Pittsburgh Penguins (24-17-4) @ New York Rangers (29-11-4)

7:00 pm/et

Madison Square Garden - New York, NY

The Penguins have won their last three games and they're back in playoff position for now. The New York Rangers are the top team in the league and they're 7-3 in their last ten. Kris Letang will be back in the line-up. Is this a... healthy... defense? Okay. Now we've jinxed it.

Season Series: 0-2-0

Last meeting that counted: January 6, 2012. Rangers won 3-1.

What we said in our recap:

We really don't know what to say. As we have all learned over the past year, just when you think it can't get any worse, it does. During the day Friday, some disheartening Crosby rumors started filtering out. People associated with the Pens came out and peed on the rumors. But it's disheartening to everyone that Crosby is in the position where a rumor stating he won't return this season is even entertained. Then came the third period Friday night. Satan sat down on his couch and spun the Pens Injury Wheel. And it landed on Jordan Staal.

Know Your Enemy: The New York Rangers Blog

What they're saying:

Marc-Andre Fleury is 6-8-3 with a 3.37 goals-against average lifetime at MSG. Jordan Staal is out until some time in February with a torn MCL he received from a collision with Mike Rupp during the teams' last meeting.

Pittsburgh Penguins Notes:

The Penguins are hot. Imagine writing that phrase last week.

Kris Letang is back.

Kris Letang is back.

New York Rangers Notes:

The Rangers are "pretty close" to the Cup.

Unless you ask John Tortorella. Personally, we're waiting until they "arrive."

Brandon Prust is moving to the Rangers' top line.
