The Bullies are in town Canucks gameday links: NWSB Matchup Insight | NWSB Preview + Prediction The Vancouver Canucks host the Philadelphia Flyers in their second and final meeting of the season tonight at Rogers Arena. The Canucks will be playing in their second of back-to-back games tonight while the Flyers have been waiting for the Canucks to return home from last night’s game in Calgary. Corrado Called Up Frank Corrado has been called up from the Canucks’ AHL affiliate after losing Andrew Alberts early in last night’s game in Calgary. Brian McGrattan hit Alberts high early in last night’s contest and was assessed five minutes for elbowing and ejected from the game. Alberts appeared to be unconscious as he hit the ice and has been ruled out of tonight’s game with a concussion. Nothing Lacking Eddie Lack had another solid game for the Canucks last night in Calgary, shutting out the Flames in a solid 18-save performance. While Lack didn’t have a busy night he stepped up at key moments to keep the Canucks ahead in what was a close, yet dominant win for the visitors. Look for Lack to continue to prove himself in Roberto Luongo’s absence tonight against the Flyers. Lack can expect to face more than 18 shots tonight against the Flyers. Dynamic Duo After a slow start to the season both Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek have been on fire for the Flyers as the team approaches to midway point of the season. Playing alongside each other on the Flyers’ top line Giroux and Voracek have combined for 11 goals and 19 assists over their last nine games. The duo are the Flyers’ best bet to break Eddie Lack’s shutout streak tonight in Vancouver. Defence First While the Philadelphia Flyers have been enjoying an offensive resurgence thanks to the play of Giroux and Voracek the Vancouver Canucks have embraced a more defensively responsible strategy lately. The Canucks have been held to two goals or fewer in five straight games but have managed to win their last three in a row on the strength of solid defensive play. Look for the Canucks to keep things simple after losing another defenceman last night in Calgary. High-Flyers The Flyers on the other hand have been producing at a prolific pace lately putting up three goals or more in six-straight games heading into tonight’s contest. While Lack has been solid of late the Canucks are playing the second of back-to-back games tonight and will need to play a smart and responsible game opposite the dangerous Flyers. The home team can only hope a strong bout of the Roxy Flu will have the Flyers flying at half-mast tonight at Rogers Arena.
