In the past, I've discussed the disservices commissioner Gary Bettman provides for the National Hockey League. In the past, I've also discussed how it is the fans who take the largest beating when a season lockout occurs. Well, now just over a week away from the 2012-13 campaign being delayed, which could later become a full-on cancellation, we are going to mesh the two discussions into one, because the truth of the matter has never before been so blatantly obvious as it is right now.

Gary Bettman is a disgrace.

Look, I'm not going to beat around the bush here. Let's dive right into this, because what is currently going down and what is about to go down is downright wrong. Commissioner Gary Bettman does not care about us, the fans, and one could argue that he also cares very little about the players. His main focus at the moment is getting team owners, and at the same time the league, more cash in the bank.

Don't believe me? Then certainly you have not seen Mr. Bettman's "we believe we are already paying the players more money than we should" quote that has been plastered all over the Internet.

Or how about this one he made last Thursday, in an extremely poor attempt to sympathize with fans: "We recovered last time because we have the world's greatest fans."

See, I'd like to agree with the little finch there, but I was also born with the ability to see right through fakeness and faux personalities, and allow me to say, the alarms were blaring in my head when I read this disgusting slop.

Bettman does not see us as the "world's greatest fans", but rather the world's most gullible fans. He believes that we will follow his every word, will not come to realization of the severity of the issue at hand here nor the obvious cold shoulder he is giving we and the players, and that we will continue to buy raised ticket prices and what not to aid the NHL in rebounding.

And not only that, but that quote really seems to signify that he doesn't give a rat's tail if the season is locked out or not. Actually, I think this is what he wants to happen, realizing that the players will become desperate and at some point give in. Maybe this is what happened last time around, Gary, but I am not so sure Donald Fehr will allow it to go down as so once again.

But going back to Bettman's betrayal of the fans, I hope you all got a chance to watch the video I posted on the blog on Tuesday - there's a reason I left it as the site's main story for two days. It brought out all of the truths, all of the corruptness and exposed Gary Bettman to make him look all sorts of God awful (as it should've).

There are going to be the stuck-up persons out there who will deem this rant to be unprofessional or unorganized or whatever they may come up with, but to be quite honest, there are no rules when it comes to ranting, and a rant was 110-percent needed in this situation. I'm not looking for personal attention here; just making everyone aware of the truths because sometimes people view things differently than others, but in reality, there's only one way to view the way Gary Bettman is treating fans at the moment.

All I can say at this point is to let your voices be heard. Send the NHL emails, tweets, Facebook messages or whatever. This was the entire purpose behind the video that was put out - let the NHL and Gary Bettman know that we are not just doormats and will not put up with a fake commissioner.

You're right, Mr. Bettman, we ARE the best fans in the world, which is why we are going to make that statement come back full circle and bite you in the rear.
