Found December 22, 2011 on Kukla's Korner:
That is exactly what the New York Rangers did tonight in their 4-2 win over the New York Islanders. The team got strong performances from the likes of Marian Gaborik (1 goal), Brandon Dubinsky (1 goal and 1 assist), Anton Stralman (2 assists), and netminder Martin Biron (24 saves on 26 shots). With the win, the team improved to 20-8-4 on the season to move within two points of the Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia Flyers, who the team will take on tomorrow night at Madison Square Garden. Believe it or not, it was important for the Blueshirts to win tonight’s tilt. This game could have easily been a “trap game” for the Rangers and one that they would somehow find a way to lose. Instead, the team played hard, battled to the end, showed that they have depth and picked up two important points in the standings. The club also showed just how lucky they are to have a goaltender like Biron. Biron is one of the league’s best back-ups and because he has played so well this season (7-...

Is Gaborik League’s Best?

Marian Gaborik is on course for 50 goals this season. How impressive is it? Well in the entire history of the Rangers organisation you can count on one hand the amount of players that have reached that milestone as a Blueshirt. If he gets there it will be a hell of a feat. Pointing out that potential milestone is just one way of acknowledging the tremendous year the Slovakian winger...

Photo: Brandon Dubinsky and The Broadway Hat

… well deserved.  I thought Dubi played his best game all season last night against the Isles and even notched the first goal of the game. Hopefully this will be the beginning of more goals for Dubi.

This Is Why I Love Dubinsky

I, like most Rangers fans, have a preference for home grown players. And I especially love those who find it a privilege to wear the Blueshirt. And Brandon Dubinsky is one of them. While he's had a tough start to the season in the goal scoring department, Dubinsky has continued to give 100% every night and his passion to win is always on display as evidenced by this great pic...

Congrats on 600th Point Gaborik

It's been quite a few days for Marian Gaborik, as he scored his 300th goal Saturday night, then last night he registered his 599, 600 and 601st points on 2g, 1a to help the Rangers defeat the Devils 4-1 (pic via Blueshirts United). To view Gaborik scoring his 600th point on a goal to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead last night click the "Read More" tab below... Postgame: Lundqvist, Gaborik Lead Rangers Past Devils

The Rangers got rivalry week started off right with a 4-1 defeat of the New Jersey Devils tonight at the Prudential Center. This wasn’t a perfect effort for the Rangers by any means, but an explosive third period, which saw the team score three unanswered goals, carried them to victory in the first meeting with their cross-river rivals this season.  Mike Rupp and Cam Janssen...

Gaborik Ok After Slash

Pat Leonard at the Daily News reports that after the game John Tortorella said Marian Gaborik was fine after taking a slash to the shoulder on his goal last night....great news! Got to admit, I was real worried watching him wince in pain on the bench. The season actually flashed before my eyes. Here's video of the play... Remember to follow me on Twitter &...

Morning Skate Notes: Biron In, Woywitka Likely Out vs. Islanders

Andrew Gross at Rangers Rants reports that Martin Biron was the first goaltender off the ice at the morning skate meaning he will start tonight against the Islanders at MSG....with the Flyers tomorrow, makes sense to give Lundqvist a rest. Even if it's against the rival Islanders. In other line-up news, Jeff Woywitka was hit on his injured foot with an errant puck during practice...

NHL roundup: Gaborik's 20th goal lifts Rangers

Brandon Dubinsky scored his first goal in more than a month, Marian Gaborik moved into a tie for the NHL lead with his 20th, and Martin Biron was solid in net to lead the New York Rangers to a 4-2 victory over the New York Islanders on Thursday night.

Dubinsky ends drought as Rangers win 3 in row

Brandon Dubinsky scored his first goal in more than a month, Marian Gaborik moved into a tie for the NHL lead with his 20th, and Martin Biron was solid in net to lead the New York Rangers to a 4-2 victory over the New York Islanders on Thursday night.

HBO 24/7 Rangers-Flyers Episode 2

Episode 1 lived up to the hype. It featured a whole lot of swearing (as usual), John Tortorella ripping into Marian Gaborik and Ilya Bryzgalov telling us about the universe. Episode 2 also promises to be good (I won’t spoil anything for you). Enjoy!   Part 1: Part 2: Part 3: Part 4:

Red-hot Gaborik scores 20th goal of season

Now it's 20 goals for Marian Gaborik and a share of the NHL lead with Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Toews after finishing Artem Anismov's brilliant feed off a left circle faceoff victory against Frans Nielsen at 7:52 of the second period in last night's 4-2 Garden...

Tuesday’s Three Stars: Gaborik boosts Rangers; Malkin piles points

No. 1 Star: Marian Gaborik, New York Rangers Gaborik passed the 600-point plateau in his career with his first goal of the night early in the third period and added to his total with an empty-netter to seal a 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils. Gaborik ended with a 3-point night with an assist coming on an Artem Anisimov goal in the second period. Henrik Lundqvist made 30 saves as...

The Skinny

Game 32 Rangers 4, Isles 2 Martin Biron made 24 saves to improve his career record against the Isles to 21-4-1 as the New York Rangers defeated the Islanders 4-2 in front of 18,200 at Madison Square Garden.  The Isles are 5-2-1 in their l...

Rangers 4, Flyers 2

The New York Rangers (21-8-4) defeated the Philadelphia Flyers (21-9-4) by the score of 4-2, tonight. For a boxscore and recap go to Yahoo! Sports....sort of fun being a Rangers fan right now, huh?...surprised to see the Rangers come out as flat as they did, but their forecheck really took over in the second and third period and, in my opinion, dominated the Flyers....with...

Tortorella pre-game

Short and sweet. Same lineup tonight. Jeff Woywitka re-injured his foot this morning and won’t play. Not sure if it’s now worse or if he’ll be out longer. He talked about Martin Biron very briefly, and about  Mike Rupp. Wouldn’t answer questions on “24/7”  John Tortorella:
