The Milwaukee Admirals lost captain Mike Moore to the Providence Bruins this summer. But they may have found his replacement.
As first reported by Tyler Doig, defenseman Bryan Rodney has signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Nashville Predators. The 29-year old Toronto, Ontario, native’s contract is worth $120,000 while with the Admirals and $550,000 while with Nashville.
Blue chip prospects Ryan Ellis and Mattias Ekholm are expected to be in Music City this season but one of them will be on the outside looking in with the defense corps the way it is. As a result, Rodney seems destined for the AHL. If Nashville decides to move a defenseman or has a rash of injuries like last year, however, Rodney could see his first NHL action since April 2, 2012.
