Here are some of the highlights… Bowman: "I'm proud of the group and what we accomplished." #Blackhawks — Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) June 3, 2014 We all are Stan. Another good year for the team and the front office (for the most part). Bowman: "Certain players are going to be looking for growth from within." Names Brandon Saad as a player who had a strong season to grow on. — Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) June 3, 2014 Also mentioned Andrew Shaw when talking about players who have come a long way. On Versteeg: "The biggest thing for him is to have a good summer." Adds that he fits in well with the team as a whole. #Blackhawks — Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) June 3, 2014 Versteeg had knee surgery about a year ago. Interesting to see how the Blackhawks training staff can help him rehab in the off-season and see if he can come back and contribute. Bowman: "There will be some new faces next year." Says that the style of play the team has played will not change, and has been successful. — Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) June 3, 2014 Says this every year. Some of the older, bigger contracts will be gone (IMO). On Teravainen: "We’re very excited about Teuvo, but we’re not going to put any pressure on him. He doesn't have a timeline." #Blackhawks — Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) June 3, 2014 In my opinion we’ll see Teuvo next year. On getting Toews/Kane extensions: "It's the highest priority for us." #Blackhawks — Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) June 3, 2014 This will get done ASAP. Need to make it happen and then build around it. Think Getzlaf and Perry money. On 19/88: "They want to win. And we're committed to winning." #Blackhawks — Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) June 3, 2014 No one doubts their will to win. I think they will do what’s necessary to maintain a winning team in Chicago even if that means taking less thank 10 mil a year. On Leddy's progress: "I like the progression we've seen. It's a slow, steady progression, and that's what you look for in young players." — Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) June 3, 2014 Rough post season for #8 but he is cheap right now and only has 1 year left on his deal. I don’t think they’ll move him but it would be nice for him to prove he can be a top 4 Defenseman. Bowman says Morin will get chance next season, has been knocking on door. — ESPN Chicago (@ESPNChiHawks) June 3, 2014 ZERO doubt in my mind he spends next year on the Big Club. Stan Bowman on keeping the core intact AND extending Toews and Kane: "That's the goal. That’s the goal here, to keep this thing going." — Mark Lazerus (@MarkLazerus) June 3, 2014 In a word….duh Bowman on Smith: "Thought Ben had a great season. Hats off to him. Showed that progression we're looking for." — Brian Hedger (@BrianHedger) June 3, 2014 Translation…Ben Smith will get a raise this off-season Stan Bowman on Brandon Saad: "I’m excited for what he’s been able to accomplish. I think it’s just the tip of the iceberg for him." — Mark Lazerus (@MarkLazerus) June 3, 2014 Saad is the truth…Blackhawks fans should be very happy the “Man-Child” is in Chicago. Bowman said he'll sit down with Ben Smith's rep in the next few weeks. Sounds like he wants to bring Raanta back too. #Blackhawks — Tracey Myers (@TramyersCSN) June 3, 2014 I’m very interested in how they handle the Raanta situation. I think he learned the NHL is the best of the best and he might not cost as much as people think. Bowman is now done. Q up next. 41 total views, 41 views today The post Highlights From Stan Bowman Press Conference appeared first on Chicago Fan Board.
