The Pittsburgh Penguinâs good health lasted all of 10 minutes Wednesday before Dallas defenseman Eric Nystrom checked Kris Letang into a possible second concussion. A period later, power-play puck carrier Steve Sullivan was felled with a lower-body injury. So muc...

With the post-season about a month away, the Penguins have really started to hit their stride. They moved into 4th in the East while holding the second highest point total in the Conference behind the Rangers and their special teams rank among the top five in the NHL for both the PP and PK. The high tempo style behind Hart Trophy front runner Evgeni Malkin has also lead the Penguins...
After Kris Letang took a hit to the head in the first period of yesterday’s game against Dallas, he never returned to the game. Today he did travel with the team to Denver but will not be playing with the team on Saturday due to concussion symptoms. This is not a good thing at all considering he missed a bunch of time earlier in the season due to a concussion. Coach Byslma...
Another night, another controversy in the NHL. On Wednesday night in Dallas, Eric Nystrom took out Kris Letang with what appeared to be a hit the head. Nystrom received a minor for roughing on the play, which was popularly argued about by Mike Milbury and Jeremy Roenick. Check out the hit for yourself below, and leave your thoughts on the play in the comments section.
At least one Pittsburgh team can win Denver.
The Pens did what they needed to do: got a big lead and got the hell out of Colorado. The Stars and Avalanche aren't the 1980 Oilers or anything, but there's really no downside in the Pens riding into hostile road environments and taking 4 points. These 4 points move them to 81, 8 or so points behind the Rangers. ...
The Penguins were unstoppable as they stood the Avs up and marched them out of their own building.
Flanked by enough a large percentage of Pittsburgh fans to break an Avalanche filibuster, the Penguins walloped the Avs 5-1 on their home ice.
Five different Penguins players scored and all but seven got their name on the scoresheet while the Avs only put up minuses and (perimeter...
Dallas Stars left wing Eric Nystrom avoided league disciplinary action for a hit to the head of Pittsburgh defenseman Kris Letang in Wednesday night's game.
Nystrom received a two-minute roughing penalty on the play, which knocked Letang out of the game.
Stars general manager Joe Nieuwendyk said the league reviewed the play and saw no grounds for a suspension.
Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 35 shots, Steve Sullivan had a goal and an assist and the streaking Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-1 on Saturday night.
Evgeni Malkin, Arron Asham, Richard Park and Deryk Engelland also scored to help the Penguins stretch their winning streak to a season-high five games.
Matt Hunwick scored, and Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 22 saves for...
Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang will sit out Saturday's game at Colorado due to concussion-like symptoms.
Letang was hurt in Wednesday's game against the Dallas Stars when he took a shot to the head from Dallas forward Eric Nystrom, who received a two-minute roughing penalty.
The All-Star defenseman suffered a concussion in late November that sidelined him for...
Such a shame. In the last 4 months the only time we've heard Sidney Crosby on NBC was by a serial killer and Lindsay Lohan.

Question of the Day:
Will the NHL fine and/or suspender Dallas defender, Eric Nystrom, for his check of Kris Letang on Wednesday? How much/how long?
I couldnât find any previous Eric Nystrom suspensions. He did break the leg of Edmonton defender, Taylor Fedun...
The Pittsburgh Penguins are enjoying another win streak while getting contributions from players other than just Evgeni Malkin.
They'll try to stretch their run to six straight victories when they host a Phoenix Coyotes club looking to avoid a third straight defeat Monday night.
Malkin is tied with Tampa Bay's Steven Stamkos for the NHL lead with 80 points. The superstar...

Still no word on Letang's status.
