Skip to the :40 mark… I don’t know if this kind of thing would fly in North America what with our obsession with political correctness, and I know for sure that old school hockey purists and the Don Cherrys of this world would find it in poor taste, but this “firing squad” post-game celebration by Kazakhstani team Kazzinc-Torpedo is absolutely terrific and nothing but pure fun. According to Puck Daddy, the “sniper” is Yevgeni Rymarev, and his firing squad “victims” are teammates who didn’t quite play up to snuff in Kazzinc-Torpedo’s 5-2 victory that night. There’s so much to appreciate about the performance it’s hard to know where to begin. From Rymarev’s army helmet, to the sound effects, to the goalie flinching every time the imaginary gun is fired, the showmanship is off the charts. The pièce de résistance though has to be Rymarev using the puck as a grenade to finish off the rest of his mates. I don’t know much about Kazakhstan, but I do know they take their post-game hockey celebrations very seriously…and for that we thank them. The post Kazakhstani hockey team’s ‘firing squad’ post-game celebration is both clever and funny appeared first on Last Angry Fan.
