Sports Illustrated featured two regional covers this week for the NHL Playoffs, one with Chicago Blackhawks forward Marcus Kruger leveling Los Angeles Kings rookie Tyler Toffoli.  And a second one featuring Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask making a save.  Toffoli has been very good in the playoffs with 5 points in 10 games, and he took this cover photo in stride, sending a funny tweet to Sports Illustrated. Hopefully Sports Illustrated will respond and send him a bigger poster sized version of the photo. [@tytoff16]

Tuukka Rask, Bruins All Over Sports Illustrated Cover That Calls NHL Postseason ‘The Best’ (Photo)

In this case, we’d have to agree with Sports Illustrated unequivocally. The magazine has slapped the Bruins across its cover for this week, and the SI crew went with one of the true studs of the playoffs so far, Tuukka Rask, to make their point. With the headline “The Best,” Sports Illustrated says the NHL postseason “is like no other.” The Bruins have been the most impressive...

Boston Bruins Goalie Tuukka Rask Featured On Sports Illustrated Cover

“THE BEST: Why The NHL Postseason Is Like No Other” A.B. This cover represents Tuukka Rask finally emerging from Tim Thomas’ shadow to become a cornerstone player for the Bruins and a premier goaltender in the NHL. No longer will the words “back up” be mentioned in the same sentence with Rask. What hockey fans are witnessing is special, Rask’s playoff stat line is ridiculous...

Tuukka Rask, Bruins Dropping Own Version of ‘Steel Curtain’ Defense on Pittsburgh As Series Shifts Home (Video)

The Penguins were supposed to have the high-powered offense in this series, but it has been the Bruins providing the fireworks so far. Boston has dominated Pittsburgh through the first two games of the Eastern Conference finals, and the most impressive part of it all might be the fact those performances both came on the road. Now, as the series shifts back to Boston, the B’s are...

Tuukka Rask Stopped 53 Shots In 95 Minutes During Bruins 2OT Win

A.B. 53 saves on 54 shots. Over 95 minutes of total ice time. Rask looked first-period-fresh even deep into the second OT. Pittsburgh fans can ***** and moan all they want about hitting the post multiple times, but Rask was in position. Not every puck that hits iron was going in the net. The old addage is that it takes a hot goaltender to win the Stanley Cup. Crosby and Malking are...

Tuukka Rask Leading Bruins’ Incredible Penalty-Killing Efforts Against High-Powered Penguins

BOSTON — The Pittsburgh Penguins entered the Eastern Conference Finals having scored on 28.3 percent of their power plays. Or, to put it another way, they were scoring more than one power-play goal for every four power plays they were awarded. That’s not bad, right? So it would obviously be a monumental task for the Bruins to try and slow down that vaunted unit in the conference...

Tuukka Rask’s Incredible ‘Double Drama’ Effort Leads Bruins to Victory, Pushes Penguins to Brink (Video)

Goodness. That was exciting. The Bruins pulled out an improbable, incredible double-overtime victory over the Penguins in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals, pushing Pittsburgh to the brink of elimination. Patrice Bergeron knocked in the game-winner, but it wouldn’t have been possible without some incredible saves (and a little luck) by Tuukka Rask. Two U’s, two K’s and...

Tuukka Rask got pissed during today's morning skate

Photo via ESPN.comScott LevesqueContent ManagerAccording to ESPNBoston.com tempers flared during today's morning skate when Shawn Thornton's shot on Tuukka Rask went a little too high for Tuukka's comfort. The puck hit the right shoulder area (collarbone) of Rask which provoked a fiery response (an obscenity) from the netminder . He then skated to the bench where he slammed...

New SI cover features Tuukka Rask & Dennis Seidenberg

“The Best” huh? I dig it.

Bruins vs Penguins: Keys to Game 4

The Bruins have a chance to sweep the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at TD Garden. The Bruins, and Tuukka Rask especially, have played great all series while Pittsburgh has been mediocre. Though they were good in game 3, the Bruins were still able to win. Now they can cap off the whole series. The Bruins have to play tonight, the whole playoffs as well, without Greg Campbell. Campbell...

Pittsburgh Clown Dejan Kovacevic thinks Bruins defense, goaltending isn't better than Ottawa

We had no idea who Dejan Kovacevic is but apparently he writes for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review as a sports columnist  professional clown. He had a story talking about how the Pens stars couldn't score if they fell into a brothel with $100s sticking out of their assholes. But he found a way to diss the Bruins defense and  Tuukka Rask in one swoop: Correct. Boston'...

All the women from Boston have sung. Pens season over.

The Bruins are headed to the Cup finals after a 1-0 win. Pens had unlimited chances late but couldn't cash in. One of the more disappointing series losses in a long time. The Penguins managed just two goals against Tuukka Rask. Hard to even type that sentence. Unreal. :(

Greatest Show on Earth. BRUINS WIN!

After Game 2 the NBC dumbass crew said the Bruins "stole" the game. A 6-1 victory is not stealing a game. It is a beat down. The Bruins stole Game 3. The Penguins out played the Bruins for the majority of the game. The Penguins team we expected to see to start the series finally showed up. Vokoun played his balls off. The Penguins skaters hit FIVE...

Boston Bruins beat Penguins in double overtime of game three

Wednesday night the Boston Bruins faced the Pittsburgh Penguins at their home arena, TD Garden for game three of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, in what would be one of the most exciting games of the playoffs. The Bruins went into the game with a 2-0 lead in the series and were ready to sweep game three, but it would not be as easy as they thought, considering the majority of the game...

Tracking the Playoffs: Penguins vs. Bruins Game 3

Despite throwing 54 on Boston's goal, 29 of them being scoring chances, the Penguins could only get one past goaltender Tuukka Rask last night and that predictably was not enough to win them the game as the Bruins defeated them 2-1 in overtime. The loss puts Pittsburgh in a 3-0 hole and on the brink of elimination in the series. The Pens have no one but themselves to blame for...
