PLAYERS: Lane Macdermid
TEAMS: Boston Bruins
Lane MacDermid spent nearly as much time in the penalty box as he did on the ice in his NHL debut on Sunday. That's because the Bruins' recent call-up showed off his toughness early, throwing down with Rangers tough guy Mike Rupp. While Rupp may have ended up winning the fight in the end, the rookie certainly held his own in the bout, showing why he was called up to the big club in Boston as the B's continue to battle through injuries. To check out MacDermid's first career NHL fighting major in his debut, check out the video above.

Marty Turco Will Hellp Alleviate Pressure Off Tim Thomas in Net, Jordan Caron Stimulates Bruins Offense (Video)

Injuries have been an achilles heel for the Bruins throughout much of the 2011-12 season. Marty Turco, who has been playing hockey in Austria for much of the year, just had his first practice with the team on Wednesday and anticipates filling the void left in...

Jack Edwards Mailbag: Marty Turco Expected to Be Stopgap in Bruins' Quest for 'Port Playoffs'

The Bruins have found themselves struggling to put together a string of wins as of late, and any attempts to do so going forward won't be easy. The B's have been hit pretty hard by injury, with the latest injury coming to backup goaltender Tuukka Rask. The club announced earlier this week that he'll be out 4-6 weeks, so to add some depth the B's have signed Marty...

David Krejci's Hot Streak Alongside Milan Lucic, Tyler Seguin Could Make New Line Tough to Break Up (Video)

Tuukka Rask's injury could make life difficult for Tim Thomas and the Bruins down the stretch, but as NESN's Mark Mowers puts it, you can't count out Thomas because he's consistently proved doubters wrong throughout his career. What is evident, though, is that the B's will need to elevate their game against difficult opponents, such as the Rangers. The B's...

Marty Turco's Wild First Day with Bruins Includes Sweating Out Waiver Deadline, Practicing Within Minutes of Going Unclaimed

WILMINGTON, Mass. – Marty Turco has seen a lot in 14 professional seasons. He began playing in a league that doesn't even exist anymore, skating for the Michigan K-Wings of the now-defunct International Hockey League and most recently was biding his time with EC Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. Maybe it was that kind of experience that allowed Turco to take the unique circumstances...

But a back-to-back against the Islanders and the Rangers seemed to cause more concern than it quelled. David Krejci's...
