The Lightning lead the NHL in goals going into Friday night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets. After the game, the Bolts remain best in goals scored after a crushing 8-3 victory over the Jets. Rookie sensation Cory Conacher continues to play well. He got things going in the first period with his fourth goal of the season nearly eight minutes in. Two more goals by Steven Stamkos and Vinny Lecavalier made it a 3-0 score at intermission. All three first period goals were on a power play Conacher again got things going in the second period during the first thirty seconds. He tipped the puck in net after a shot just in side the blue line from defenseman Eric Brewer. The Bolts would have a 6-0 lead before Winnipeg finally got on the board in the third period. The Jets would score three goals within four and a half minutes but it was not enough. Tampa Bay now leads the NHL with 37 goals. They remain undefeated at home with a 5-0-0 record.
