Yesterday I posted the worst 20 players in 2011/12 by their adjusted Corsi rate. The adjustment comes when players Corsi (difference in shots directed at goal for and against) when they are on the ice is compared to that of their team when they are not on the ice in five on five situations. This gives us an idea of which players have a significantly different puck possession record than their teammates. The difference can be because the player in question is not very good but it also might be because of the situation in which the player plays.
Manny Malhotra of the Vancouver Canucks has the worst adjusted Corsi rate in the league in 2011/12. He had a -32.6 Corsi rate. This is a difference of 32.6 extra shots directed at the Canucks goal per 60 minutes of even strength ice time. This is quite a significant number.

And just like that his tournament is over. Soon to be EX-Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo finished 634th at 2012 World Series Of Poker. Lu had made it through to the fourth day of the World Series of Pokers main event tournament in Las Vegas, but his chip stack was dwindling pot by pot. Still must be said he had a fun time considering his 10k buy in was handled for him by...
Mason Raymond is running out of time for excuses. The 26-year-old left winger signed a one-year deal July 9 to remain in Vancouver. He accepted a pay reduction to $2.27 million from $2.6 million after the Canucks made the unusual move of filing for arbitration against him. The club gets the reduced salary it was looking for while avoiding a nasty arbitration hearing. Raymond...
I posted the top 20 players by their adjusted Corsi rate in 2011/12. Daniel Sedin of the Vancouver Canucks leads the league with +22.5 Corsi events per 60 minutes of even strength play. This is a four point lead over anyone else in the league. This shows that Sedin had the largest difference between the puck possession of his team when he was on the ice when compared to when...
from the Vancouver Sun, Vancouver Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo is in the money.
Luongo is among the 666 survivors at the World Series of Poker main event tournament in Las Vegas who are now guaranteed a payday.
A field of 6,598 players began play last weekend.
Luongo began play on Friday with 92,000 chips, but doubled up early in the day when his Ace-Queen hand beat a competitor’s...
