Popular Detroit Red Wings defender and twitter personality Mike Commodore was very confused after a high volume of negativity from Los Angeles Kings fans on Twitter yesterday.

The off-season acquisition of the Red Wings says he accidentally clicked “retweet” on an original tweet that questioned the integrity of L.A. as a hockey market.

Here’s the screen grab:

A screen grab of Mike Commodore's accidental retweet, originating from Tim Joyce.

The original tweet came from one of the 238 Commodore follows: Tim Joyce.

There isn’t enough information in the profile of this user, or a link to a website, but Joyce associates with New Jersey Devils fans on Twitters, such as his comment suggests. He insinuates that Wayne Gretzky has turned out moderate Kings fans, but L.A. can’t bring out the true puck heads.

Commodore’s following tweets can be described as confusion, asking his followers to clue him in on why he was getting rash comments. Commodore was quick to make an apology on Twitter, saying he admires the city of L.A. and their fans, and then deleted the accidental retweet.

A little Wing wobble

Why are the Red Wings a big “Work in Progress,” and why has their collective play dropped off so significantly after a 5-and-0 start? Going into tonight’s game against the Wild, it seems like the Wings’ players aren’t just on “different pages”—they’re on different chapters of their team’s new playbook, if they’ve read it at all, and I think I know why: after...

Sharks-Red Wings Preview

The Detroit Red Wings haven't looked very sharp in back-to-back losses on the road. Having goaltender Jimmy Howard available with the surging San Jose Sharks coming to town Friday night may provide the stabilizing force they need to get back on track. Detroit plays seven of its next eight at home, and Howard is back with the team after missing the last two games due to the...
