PLAYERS: Bobby Orr
TEAMS: Boston Bruins
According to CBS Boston, an elementary school in Montreal canceled “Canadiens Jersey Day” for their students today, due to the fact that “someone complained that an 11-year-old girl was told to ditch her Bobby Orr Bruins jersey on a previous Canadiens jersey day.” With bullying awareness at an all-time high, I actually felt myself siding with the school’s administrators. No faculty member wants to be responsible for students getting harassed and attacked. That was until I really let English Montreal School Board spokesman, Mike Cohen’s, statement sink in: “We don’t think it’s prudent for a student to wear a Boston Bruins jersey in a school during this very intensive playoff play. At this stage in the game, with the Canadiens leading the series 2-1, why ignite things, why create a controversy.” Did you catch that jab? The Canadiens leading 2-1 in the series is irrelevant. It could be a random day in November and a kid wearing a Bruins jersey in Montreal would be harassed. I suspect t...

Quebec school nixes Habs jersey day after girl wears Bruins sweater

One Quebec school would rather see their students not wearing hockey jerseys to school at all than see some students wearing Boston Bruins sweaters. OK, so that's not entirely the message from an elementary school in St-Leonard, Quebec but it's pretty close. The school had planned for a Montreal Canadiens jersey day for Thursday before calling it off. Why? Because a parent...

The Boston Bruins’ performance in Game 3 of their second-round series against the Montreal Canadiens was far from their best, but it wasn’t a total loss. Still, Boston has to change the way they’ve been playing...

Claude Julien On Being Down 2-1: ‘It’s Not The End Of The World For Us’

Tyler Seguin Trade Benefiting Boston Bruins In 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs

The Boston Bruins took a chance when they traded former No. 2 overall draft pick and supremely talented forward Tyler Seguin to the Dallas Stars last summer. The B’s had holes in their roster to fill, and trading Seguin was one way of fortifying the group with players who are able to excel in a specific role. The playoffs are all about depth, and the Bruins simply didn’t have...

Bruins’ Third Line Takes Advantage Of Favorable Matchup In Game 4 Win

The Boston Bruins’ third line was buzzing all night long. So it was only fitting that they were the ones who finally found the back of the net in Game 4 on Thursday against the Montreal Canadiens. Bruins Need A Strong Start In Game 4 To Beat The Canadiens (Video)

The Boston Bruins haven’t necessarily been playing their best hockey at the start of their second-round playoff games against the Montreal Canadiens, and the Bruins know as well as anyone that that can’t be the case against the Habs. “I think we’ve all seen it this series where when time’s running out, and we’re down, you see the team pick it up and get to another gear...
