Season series: Tied 2-2

NSH-  Pekka Rinne (Playoff stats: 4-1, 1.81 GAA)

PHX-  Mike Smith (Playoff stats: 4-2, 1.81 GAA)

Injury report:

NSH-  Hal Gill (lower body, questionable)

PHX-  Michal Rozsival (upper body, questionable)

Game thoughts:

The Coyotes and Predators have waited long enough.  It’s time to get Round 2 under way.  Both teams made the first round look easier than most expected, which sets up for an intriguing second-round matchup between two similar clubs.

It’ll be important for the Coyotes not to have a letdown after their first-ever playoff series win since moving from Winnipeg; they are far enough removed from the first round where that shouldn’tbe a problem.  The Predators have a business-like approach in Phoenix this weekend and should at least earn a split.  Look for Smith to have a bit of an off-night after a sensational opening series.

Prediction: Predators 3, Coyotes 1
