Predictions record: 1-4

3. Jonathan Toews, CHI (2 goals, 1 assist)

Tonight’s slate:
Devils @ Maple Leafs, 7:00 ET
Lightning @ Islanders, 7:00
Blue Jackets @ Canadiens, 7:30
Red Wings @ Blues, 7:30
Coyotes @ Predators, 8:00
Bruins @ Jets, 8:30
Hurricanes @ Flames, 9:00
Avalanche @ Canucks, 10:00
Kings @ Ducks, 10:00
Wild @ Sharks, 10:30

Game of the night:
Minnesota Wild @ San Jose Sharks
10:30 ET… TV: Local Networks

Overall: Wild (17-7-3) … Sharks (14-8-1)
Away/Home: Wild (7-3-2) … Sharks (7-5-1)
Last 10: Wild (8-2-0) … Sharks (6-4-0)
Season Series: 1-0 Sharks

Players to watch:
MIN- Mikko Koivu
Captain Koivu has been a consistent two-way difference-maker for the Wild.
SJ- Dan Boyle
The Sharks’ No. 1 defenseman has gone nine games without a point. Will he snap out of that slump tonight?

Starting goaltenders:
MIN- Josh Harding (2011-12 stats: 7-2-1, 2.05 GAA)
SJ- Antti Niemi (2011-12 stats: 10-4-1, 2.38 GAA)

Injury report:
MIN- Niklas Backstrom (groin, questionable), Marek Zidlicky and Guillaume Latendresse (concussion, out), Justin Falk (back, out)
SJ- Douglas Murray (hand, doubtful), Antero Niittymaki (hip, out)

Game thoughts:
NHL-leading Minnesota makes their second trip to the Bay Area of the season. Mike Yeo’s club has won once in their last 10 trips to the Shark Tank, a place where the Sharks have been inconsistent this season. The Wild have won four in a row, while Todd McLellan’s gang has been up and down. Last night was a statement night around the NHL, and I think the Sharks make one to the Wild tonight.
Prediction: Sharks 4, Wild 2

The rest of today’s predictions:
Maple Leafs over Devils
Lightning over Islanders
Blue Jackets over Canadiens
Blues over Red Wings
Predators over Coyotes
Jets over Bruins
Flames over Hurricanes
Canucks over Avalanche
Ducks over Kings
