ANAHEIM, CA - OCTOBER 24: Rick Nash #61 of the Columbus Blue Jackets lines up for a faceoff against the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center on October 24, 2009 in Anaheim, California. The Blue Jackets defeated the Ducks 6-4. (Photo by Jeff Gross/Getty Images)

Many have asked: One call can change all, but I get no sense that a Rick Nash trade is imminent. Holding pattern for now. #CBJ

...sweet, can't tell you how excited I am to hear this news.

...with all the news being posted about Nash on this blog lately, I'm ready to change the name to The Rick Nash Blog.

In news I'm assuming most of you would rather hear, Luke Lapinski at ESPN Insider notes that the Rangers cannot be discounted as a potential landing spot for Bobby Ryan.

...i'm pretty sure I'm in the majority when I say I'd rather see the Rangers obtain the younger, cheaper and playoff experienced Ryan.

...wonder what Snoop Dogg would think if his beloved Ducks lost one of their top players?

Hearing a lot of Rangers fans interested in bringing in the enigmatic Alex Semin, but looks like that option might be gone as SportsNet reports that he's on the verge of signing a 1-year deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

...as talented as Semin is, I really don't think he'd be a great fit with the Rangers. He's not exactly the type of guys who plays #therightway. Could you imagine him and Torts trying to co-exist? Would be worse than Torts and Avery.

For more on Aaron Asham's injury problems, the Rangers preseason schedule and more, click the "Read More" tab below.

While Aaron Asham will add some toughness to the line-up, might be hard for him to make an impact if he's always injured (TSN)...

"One of the perils of Asham's role is that injuries are starting to catch up to him. He's missed 56 games over the last two seasons, so that needs to be considered as part of the risk for the Rangers."

...as if I needed another reason to hate this signing.

The preseason schedule continues to leak out as Steve Zipay at Newsday reports that the Rangers will visit Flyers on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m.

It has already been reported that the Rangers will again face the Devils in Albany on Sept. 26th. Other exhibition games are at the Islanders on Oct. 4th, in Kansas City vs. the Avalanche on Oct. 6th and at the Kings on Oct. 8th.

...love that the Rangers are going to christen the Islanders future home in Kansas City.

And, Photo #4 of the Rangers Top 102 Photos of the Season is Brad Richards celebrating his game-winning goal at the 2012 NHL Winter Classic...

...forgot what Richards looked like with clothes on.

And finally, it's never too early to think about your fantasy hockey league as The Hockey News gives this fantasy scouting report for the Rangers...

"The Rangers were very successful on the ice, but on the stat sheets (what fantasy owners care about) things weren’t so rosy. After Marian Gaborik, only one player topped 55 points and that was Brad Richards at 66. A couple of players should take the next step offensively - Derek Stepan and Michael Del Zotto come to mind - and Brandon Dubinsky should rebound at least a little bit. The addition of Kreider helps, too. But I am afraid the coaching style will prevent eye-popping numbers from anyone besides Gaborik. And speaking of Gaborik, he’s hurt practically every other season and is set to miss the start of 2012-13 after off-season shoulder surgery."

...translation: if you have a lot of Rangers on your team other than Lundqvist this year you will not win your league.

...speaking of fantasy leagues, not sure TheNYRBlog Fantasy Hockey League will be back this year. Way too much work when there's 120 teams involved.
