Nathan Horton missed the last five games of the Bruins’ regular season after he suffered an upper-body injury during a fight with Pittsburgh’s Jarome Iginla. Horton suited up and practiced on Tuesday for the first time since that injury and did not have any limitations during practice, which could signal that the winger is ready to hit the ice again for Wednesday’s playoff matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Concussions have held Horton back in the last two postseasons, and he’s ready to leave it all on the ice this year. Watch the video above to see what Horton had to say prior to Wednesday’s matchup.

Brad Marchand Accuses James van Riemsdyk of Spearing Him ‘in the Privates’ as Part of Physical Game 1

BOSTON — Brad Marchand was back to his old ways Wednesday night, which is good news for the Bruins. However, that’s not necessarily good news for the Bruins forward. Marchand showed a ton of jump — energy that he and his linemates haven’t necessarily showed lately — in the B’s 4-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 1 of their first-round series. Marchand also showed...

Jaromir Jagr Enjoys A Pre Game Skate With Short Shorts & A Winter Hat

A.B. When you are a 41-year old, guaranteed first-ballot hall of famer, with almost 1,700 career points – you can do and wear whatever the hell you want. That being said, this pre-game outfit of choice is odd, even for Jaromir Jagr. Short shorts, skates and a winter hat are three things I never thought I would put in the same sentence. But to Jagr’s defense, maybe it has something...

WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS BOSTON 4, TORONTO 1; BOS leads series 1-0 The Bruins scored four unanswered goals and Tuukka Rask made 19 saves for his eighth career playoff win. The line of Milan Lucic (0-2—2), David Krejci (1-2—3) and Nathan Horton (1-0—1) combined for six points, including the game-winner by Horton at 19:48 of the first period. PITTSBURGH 5, NY ISLANDERS ...

Leafs' James van Reimsdyk Hits Marchand In His Little Brados

I love how the Bruins are labeled as such a dirty team. It seems like that's a staple of every opposing fanbase to reflect how ******* awful their team is. It happens every playoff game. What no fan will say, however, is how dirty their team is. Take it away James:  To be fair, it was probably the Leafs best hit of the night. Clear attempt by JVR to hit Brad below...

Peter Chiarelli Sees Improvement, But Admits Bruins Have to ‘Step Up Performance’ As Playoffs Start

The Bruins scuffled down the stretch, and as a result, they’ll open the playoffs Wednesday with little positive momentum. Despite what the numbers might say, however, the B’s insist they’re seeing good things despite the results. When the puck drops on Game 1 against Toronto on Wednesday night, those small victories won’t matter much anymore as wins — and getting four of...

Bruins excited for Original Six foe in playoffs

There is plenty of playoff history between the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs. But not much of it is recent. The two Original Six teams last met in the postseason in 1974, when Boston swept the Maple Leafs in the first round. The Leafs haven't beaten the Bruins in the playoffs since 1959. Boston and Toronto will meet again in the best-of-seven first round of the NHL...

Brian Rolston Retires Because He Is Old (Maybe Not That Reason) by   Steven Ellis

Brian Rolston has retired from the NHL after a 17 year career as a power-forward, Rolston was drafted in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft by the New Jersey Devils as their second pick in the first round. Prior to his NHL career, Rolston played for Lake Superior State University (where as a freshman he scored the game-winning goal and earned Most [...]

(Video) Andrew Ference to have hearing for his elbow on Mikhail Grabovski

After I saw this elbow, I had a feeling that Andrew Ference was going to get some scrutiny from the Department of Player Safety for this elbow on Leafs forward Mikhail Grabovskiand, and he will. Ference has a hearing today with the Department of Player Safety. I have to think that he will be getting at least a game suspension for this hit. Word out of Boston. #Bruins Ference...

Previewing the Bruins vs Toronto Stanley Cup Playoff series

The playoffs are upon us and the attention that the Bruins have gotten for backpedalling into the playoffs now shifts to their first round playoff matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs.  The Bruins finished the season 3-5-2 in their last 10 and blew numerous attempts to wrap up the Northeast Division as the Canadiens also stumbled down the stretch.  The Bruins play of late, and...

Andrew Ference elbows Mikhail Grabovski in the head

At the 6:59 in the first period during Game One of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins first round playoff match-up, Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference elbowed Mikhail Grabovski in the head. No penalty was called. Grabovski was shaken up my the hit, but stayed in the game. After one period, it`s 2-1 Bruins. Related:Toronto vs. Boston Game One 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs Live Stream

Bruins-Maple Leafs Series Features Plenty of Storylines in Teams’ First Postseason Meeting Since 1974

The Bruins woke up Sunday morning knowing they were headed to the playoffs, but they didn’t know who they would be facing. Toronto, Ottawa or the New York Islanders could have been the first-round opponent of the B’s. When the club went to bed late Sunday night, the dust had settled, and the club’s first-round series was set. The Bruins, of course, will take on the Maple Leafs...

Bruins-Maple Leafs Live: B’s, Leafs Renew Rivalry in Playoffs With Game 1 From TD Garden

8 a.m. ET: The Bruins were simply not good for the last month and a half of the regular season. Luckily for them, however, the regular season is over and the slate is wiped clean once the playoffs begin. The playoffs begin for the B’s on Wednesday night in Boston. The Bruins host the Maple Leafs on Wednesday night in the first of a seven-game series with the Toronto Maple Leafs...

Stanley Cup Playoffs Preview: Bruins vs. Maple Leafs

By Mitch Cole (@DirtyWaterBuzz) Jared Wickerham/Getty Images With the lockout shortened regular season now in the books, a brand new season now begins: the postseason. For the Bruins, the clean slate of a new season should benefit them. A team that stumbled over themsleves at the end of the regular season now has a chance to flip the proverbial switch that many believe they have...

Leafs Have Been Targeted for Shermination. BRUINS WIN!

We didn't think there was an "on switch" for the playoffs. The Bruins had played an extremely lazy March/April and limped into the playoffs like Erik Karlsson limps out of Pittsburgh.  Two minutes into the game, the Leafs score while all the Bruins simply stoodd around and watch. It was like getting punched in the stomach. They didn't flip the switch.  ...
