The New York Islanders have revealed the uniforms that they will wear for their Stadium Series game against the New York Rangers at Yankee Stadium on January 29th. The logo is an altered version of their current one, but it still looks pretty cool. The striping on the uniform, with the white shoulders and special pant cover is an awesome look. I guess this means that the New York Rangers will be the visiting team wearing white.

Dan Girardi’s struggles may extend Michael Del Zotto’s tenure in blue
Despite all the recent trade rumors swirling around Michael Del Zotto, the young D-man may remain a Ranger beyond this year.
I’ll spare you the argument that Del Zotto is still very young for a defenseman at just 23 years old, because frankly I don’t buy that as an excuse for his erratic play any more either...
Is Dylan McIlrath ready?
Alain Vigneault commented after the Rangers’ turgid performance in Tampa on Monday that “Nobody touched a soul”, referring to his team’s lack of physicality. This has been an underlying issue for large parts of the season so far. In the mean time, Michael Del Zotto continues to be, at best, inconsistent (and the subject of countless traded rumours...
After a run that saw the Rangers score just nine goals in seven games, Alain Vigneault has shaken up his lines (per Pat Leonard). The only line that remains intact is the Kreider-Stepan-Zuccarello line:
Carl Hagelin-Brad Richards-Rick Nash
Chris Kreider-Derek Stepan-Mats Zuccarello
Benoit Pouliot-Derick Brassard-Ryan Callahan
Brian Boyle-Dominic Moore-Derek Dorsett
In reality this...
Former New York Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro tells the Globe and Mail's Viv Bernstein that he's doing quite well in the AHL at least on a personal basis, and the current Charlotte Checkers (the Carolina Hurricanes' AHL affiliate) goaltender tells Bernstein that he's very happy to be taking one final kick at the pro hockey can, but it sounds like DiPietro'...

The Rangers are struggling so badly to score consistently that coach Alain Vigneault is entertaining the idea of playing a more conservative game.
“(Monday night’s 5-0 loss to the Lightning) was our 24th game, and in 15 of those games we’ve scored two goals or less,” Vigneault said after practice Tuesday afternoon. “That’s a pretty good chunk if you want a segment that...
November 28th, 1993: Madison Square Garden, NY: After suffering their first defeat in over a month yesterday afternoon on Long Island, the Rangers were right back at the next night, looking to start a new streak. The Rangers were home to a Capitals team they had gotten the better of in their previous two meetings. The Rangers defeated […]
November 27th, 1993: Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Uniondale, NY: The Rangers took on their most bitter rivals for the first time this season and did so in a place that had become a house of horrors for the Blueshirts. Since a 4-1 win on October 28th, 1989, the Rangers have not won on Long Island in the […]
The Islanders are in trouble on defense -- bigger trouble now that Thomas Hickey, one of the few remaining reliable defensemen, is likely out.
The Rangers need to make a change and want Michael Del Zotto to be the one moving out.
Here is a not-so-modest, but sensible, proposal: A real trade between the Isles and Rangers.
Garth Snow has been working the phones to find a defenseman...
The Michael Del Zotto saga has been enduring media attention for over a week, as rumours continue to dominate Twitter and message boards. The Ranger puck mover was healthy scratched again tonight, fuelling speculation that he is being shopped, and…Read more →The post New York Rangers: Michael Del Zotto trade talk heating up appeared first on The Hockey Daily.

@ESPN_Burnside: Folks have been predicting one form or another of a Detroit Red Wings collapse for a decade now. These dire predictions often accompany a period of tepid play, a lack of scoring and poor goaltending that seem (to some observers) to portend a long-term disaster. All the Red Wings do in the face of...
Hey, remember those rumours that Ottawa was kicking the tires on New York Rangers defenceman Michael Del Zotto?
No match between Sens and NYR on Del Zotto. Told Ott made Gryba, Greening and Condra available. Fit wasn't right for NYR.

And hey, why wouldn't the Rangers want to move Del Zotto for a package...
After Monday night’s humiliating loss in Tampa Bay, the Rangers are in Fort Lauderdale to take on the Florida Panthers. The Rangers beat this team on 11/10 by a score of 4-3, taking advantage of three defensive zone coverage fails by the Panthers (and scoring a powerplay goal). However, since then Peter Horachek (Flordia’s new coach) has been doing a good job trying...
Alain Vigneault wasn’t simply talking to hear himself speak two weeks ago when the Rangers’ coach said Michael Del Zotto hadn’t earned a spot on his defense’s top six.
For Wednesday night here against the Panthers, Del Zotto was scratched in favor of Justin Falk for the fourth time in the last seven games.
It is becoming increasingly clear the 23-year-old defenseman does...
Rick Nash scored his second goal of the season and Henrik Lundqvist rebounded from a poor game with 31 saves to lift the New York Rangers over the Florida Panthers 5-2 on Wednesday night.
Mats Zuccarello, Brad Richards and Derick Brassard also scored for the Rangers. Carl Hagelin added an empty-net goal with 24 seconds left.
Nick Bjugstad and Scottie Upshall scored in the third...
