This morning, it was the League offering their own statement on their stance of the lockout that commenced at 12:01 a.m. this morning. Now, the NHLPA has released a video that features players like David Backes, Jonathan Toews and Sidney Crosby talking about how this is an "Owners lockout" and the sacrifice they've made and are willing to make. Enough of the PR propaganda. Start working towards getting the season to start on time. Either side isn't getting any sympathy from me nor should they from anyone else. Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews Among NHL Players With Lockout Message for Fans (Video)

The NHL is in the midst of another lockout, which is rather depressing for hockey fans. It's equally as frustrating for players like Sidney Crosby, who are itching to settle the ongoing labor dispute in order to return to the ice. Crosby and a number of other players appear in a video message that's become popular on the Internet. The players express a desire to get back...

Penguins' Crosby exploring playing options

Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby is exploring his playing options as the NHL lockout reached its second day. Russia's Kontinental Hockey League has the most money to pay a star player like Crosby, but it may not be willing to insure his $104 million contract. Concussions have limited Crosby's play the past two seasons. The KHL did sign star players Evgeni Malkin...

Do Jonathan Toews and Big Brother’s Dan Ghessling look a like

While watching the NHLPA video titled “A message from Players to fans about the NHL lockout” it dawned on me that Chicago Blackhawk Jonathan Toews sort of looks like Dan Ghessling from Big Brother. What do you think? That video is a nice attempt to show the fans that the NHL players care but that is a load of crap. The nuts and bolts of why they are locked out isn’t important...

NHL stars record video about lockout for fans

I hate to say this, but today kind of feels like a funeral. It's also kind of a case Deja Vu all-over again, we have seen this act before - and we didn't really like it very much. Here is the video from the NHLPA players and former Fighting Sioux forward Jonathan Toews is in the video. Related articles How Fans Can End the NHL Lockout ( Unable to Reach...

NHL lockout is happening whether the fans like it or not

It's nice to be loved, isn't it? All of a sudden, hockey fans are the center of PR messages from the league and spiffy videos from the NHLPA (featuring David Backes!) explaining why people won't be going to any pre-season games this month, or NHL hockey games in general for quite some time.  I feel loved now, don't you? I mean, these...

St. Louis Blues' website is a player-free zone

Let's face it: the lockout's only a few days old, and already it sucks. What more reminder can we need? Well, as our friends at The Pensblog found out, the NHL's team pages are as blank as blank can be when it comes to members of the NHLPA. While not as blank as the Pens' site, the Blues have replaced David Backes' face with a stylized Blue Note. Witness: Well...
