No Jokin: Penguins’ Jussi for Real

When Penguins GM Ray Shero acquired veteran Jussi Jokinen from Carolina at the trade deadline for a conditional draft pick it almost seemed like an afterthought. After all, Shero had spent the previous week snatching up three of the hottest commodities on the market—Jarome Iginla, Brenden Morrow, and Douglas Murray. But make no mistake—Jokinen’s the real deal. A quick, versatile...

Pittsburgh Penguins rink managers have Notre Dame-esque motto

The rink managers at the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Console Energy Center seem to have a sense of humor.  They copied the iconic Notre Dame motto “Play Like A Champion Today” and made their own.  When you Zamboni the ice, it’s commonly known as “flooding” the ice, hence the motto. [@A_Merrit] [ESPN.com]

Penguins-Panthers Preview

While they're still missing several key players, the Pittsburgh Penguins have had little trouble generating offense the last two games as they continue their push for the best record in the Eastern Conference. That trend could continue Saturday night as they visit a last-place Florida Panthers team that's allowed the most goals in the conference by far. Seeking their fourth...

Brenden Morrow: 1A. Douglas Murray: 1A. wtf. Three things about this game. 1. The Pens are the deepest they've been since the '09 Cup run.  2. Tampa Bay sucks. 3...

Game 42: Penguins-Panthers Preview

The Pittsburgh Penguins are good. The Florida Panthers are bad. I could end this preview now and it would probably be sufficient to describe what is going to happen tonight.
