This morning, in return for a seventh round pick, the Penguins acquired veteran netminder Tomas Vokoun from the Washington Capitals for a seventh round draft selection in this year’s draft. Subsequently, Vokoun was swiftly signed to a two year contract extension with Pittsburgh that will be worth four million dollars over two years. The move, while not anything resembling of a surprise, can easily be argued as a rock solid move by Pittsburgh’s front office and general manager Ray Shero.
