Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that he will not play this week.
The Penguins have games Thursday at San Jose and Sunday at Los Angeles, followed by five days off. Crosby has not played since Jan. 5 due to a concussion and is slowly working his way back to game condition.
"Same old story," Crosby told the newspaper Monday...
Hockey fans have been on Sidney Crosby watch for months now; rumor has it the date 11/11/11 has the potential to be extra magical for supporters in Pittsburgh and hockey fans in general. That's when Sidney Crosby could play his first game for the Pittsburgh Penguins since Jan. 5. How do you see Crosby faring in his return? I think hockey pool managers should have this date circled...
As Sidney Crosby gets closer to returning from the concussion that has prevented him from playing since Jan. 5, it's worth pointing out that he won't necessarily be the same player. Not immediately, anyway.
Sidney Crosby has been cleared for contact. His coaches know it. His teammates know it. Heck, most of the planet seems to know it. And now that guys are allowed to hit Crosby, it's only a matter of time until someone does. Probably.

The Washington Capitals trailed by two goals with less than half a period left on Tuesday night against the Anaheim Ducks. The Caps went on a scoring bing and put together a 5-4 comeback win in overtime. What part did Alexander Ovechkin play in the nice...
We would take John Tortorella as a head coach every day of the week. Forget last year's 24/7. Tortorella's presence in this year's 24/7 is going to win an Emmy. Here's the Thornton-Tortorella saga in 65 seconds:
-Jordan Staal and Kris Letang are headed to California with the team. [ Trib ]
-Dejan gives everyone a look at Sidney Crosby...
Through 13 games going into the contest Thursday at San Jose, Steve Sullivan has been healthy. He has used his speed and savvy to fit in, playing on a top line with Evgeni Malkin and James Neal when Malkin has been healthy. He has three assists, three hits, one blocked shot. But nary a goal.

Can you imagine Dan Bylsma benching Sidney Crosby for the last minute of regulation with the Pens down a goal?
No, neither can I but thatâs exactly what happened Tuesday night in Washington with Alexander Ovechkin and coach Bruce Boudreau. With the Capitals down, 4-3...
