Boston Bruins (19-4-3) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (21-8-0) NBC, NHLN-CA, RDS - 12:30 pm/et Consol Energy Center - Pittsburgh, PA We imagine that someone scheduled this Penguins/Bruins game for 12:30pm on St. Patrick's Day and then laughed. Season Series: 1-0-0 Last meeting that counted: March 12, 2013. Penguins won 3-2. What we said in our recap: The Eastern Conference's two top bananas got together, and it was fun to watch. We have a feeling we'll be seeing something similar in late May. This was a big test for the Pens, and they passed, even without Evgeni Malkin. Hell, they did it without Crosby getting on the scoresheet, too. They erased a 2-goal lead in 4 minutes late in the third period and got a clutch performance from Darryl Sutter, who had the game-tying and game-winning goals. The Pens have now won 6 straight and are playing at the highest level they have all season. Bylsma is pushing all the right butto...

Penguins Have Seen This Fish Before

Looks familiar, doesn't it? As another spring is (barely) inching closer by the day, the Penguins are on yet another roll, winners of nine straight.  The Pens' first line of Kunitz/Crosby/Dupuis are playing out of their minds.  Even their defense, which was much maligned not very long ago, is playing much, much better. And all this recently without Evgeni Malkin. ...

Claude Julien Gives No Update About David Krejci’s Injury Following Loss to Penguins

The Bruins have been lucky when it comes to injuries this season, but that trend seems to be reversing a bit. First, the Bruins lost center Chris Kelly indefinitely with a broken tibia suffered last week. Now the Bruins are hoping center David Krejci avoids joining Kelly. Krejci left Sunday’s loss to the Penguins with an apparent knee or leg injury after he took a Johnny Boychuk...

Fleury leads Penguins in shutout

Marc-Andre Fleury couldn't help it. With the Pittsburgh Penguins' franchise record for career shutouts in sight late in the third period against the New York Rangers on Saturday, the talented if occasionally erratic goalie let his mind drift. ''I wanted it so bad,'' Fleury said. ''I tried to not jinx it. I was touching wood, but yeah I was looking...

Bruins’ First Line Finally Breaks Out, But Contributing More Consistently Must Follow

BOSTON — Sometimes in sports, a celebration tells you more than just a bunch of grown men are happy to do have done their jobs. In some cases, it gives you an inside look as to how much pressure those same grown men can be under to do their job. You could certainly sense that on Saturday afternoon at TD Garden when Bruins forwards Nathan Horton and Milan Lucic teamed up for a thunderous...

Penguins beat Rangers 3-0 for 8th straight win

Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 23 shots to break a tie for Pittsburgh's career shutout record with 23, and the Penguins beat the New York Rangers 3-0 on Saturday for their eighth straight victory. Beau Bennett, Pascal Dupuis and Tyler Kennedy scored, and Dustin Jeffrey added two assists as the Penguins continued to dominate the reeling Rangers. Pittsburgh has won seven consecutive...

27. Boston Bruins at Pittsburgh Penguins.... ...

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I hope everyone is resting their hangover with a Bloody Mary or something of that ilk as they get ready for what should be a really good hockey game today. Boston is back in Pittsburgh to take on the Eastern Conference's second place team for the second time in less than a week. If you want to give yourself PTSD, you'll remember...

Milan Lucic, Nathan Horton Exchange High Five After Bruins Goal (Animation)

When it comes to goal-scoring celebrations, high fives aren’t usually very high up on the list. That changed on Saturday afternoon, after Milan Lucic and Nathan Horton exchanged a thunderous high five after the Bruins scored. Check it out in the animation below.

Bruins-Jets Preview

With the lockout-shortened season winding down and playoff races heating up, the condensed schedule is beginning to take its toll on the Boston Bruins and Winnipeg Jets. Neither team will be getting much of a break anytime soon, either. Boston looks to avoid a third consecutive road loss Tuesday night by earning a third straight win over Winnipeg, which begins a four-game homestand...
