Joe Morrow was selected 23rd overall in the 2011 NHL Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Morrow is on the verge starting his career as a player in the National Hockey League. Joe Morrow has a chance to make the Penguins this season if he performs well in training camp.
Joe Morrow is from Sherwood Park, Alberta and has played for the Portland Winterhawks in the Western Hockey League for the last four seasons. Morrow is viewed as the top defensive prospect in the Penguins farm system and he has improved each season with the Winterhawks. His point totals have gone up every season, including an impressive 17 goals and 47 assists for 64 points last season. Morrow was also great in the clutch, averaging close to a point a game in each of the last two post seasons he played in. Look for Morrow, 19, to continue to get better in all aspects of the game and be part of the Penguins blue line for years to come.
