The Washington Capitals were on ice Monday at Kettler Capitals Iceplex following Sunday's off day as they prepare for their road swing in western Canada at the end of this week.  Some updates from Arlington:

Michal Neuvirth practiced again, which is an encouraging sign that he is nearing a return to game action rather soon.  I think that he will start at least one of the games on the upcoming road trip, probably Thursday's in Edmonton, but we'll see.  It's a luxury the Caps can afford at this point.

Jay Beagle didn't practice again, as has been the case for almost two weeks now.  He's still week-to-week with what is believed to be a concussion.

Alex Ovechkin got hit above the eye with a puck towards the end of practice, and left the ice bleeding, presumably to get cleaned up.  He came right back, though, so it's likely nothing serious.

Mike Green also missed practice with what is being described as a maintenance day and "nothing serious." However, after practice, Green was seen walking around with a significant limp and his right foot wrapped heavily.  When asked if he will play Thursday, Green responded "we'll see."  Oh, boy.  Not this again.

That's all for now.  Check back later.
