The Predators will play host to the unbeaten-in-regulation Chicago Blackhawks in the second game of a weekend double header. Nashville was in Minnesota last night where they lost in overtime on a controversial refereeing decision. The Blackhawks are 9-0-2 and first overall in the league. They also had a rest day yesterday while Nashville fought hard in an overtime loss. But the Preds have played spoiler once already this season, when they handed San Jose their first loss (they were 6-0 at the time). Rinne had the night off yesterday as backup Chris Mason had his second game of the season.

By Dan Groob, TiqIQ
Nearly a month into the season and the Chicago Blackhawks have registered nary a loss. Lady Byng Leader
As the NHL season is nearing the quarter-mark, I am trying to make picks for the awards that I have yet to address. Today I am looking at the Lady Byng Trophy. I think our leader right now is Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks. He is the second highest scorer in the NHL with 18 points. He is playing a sportsmanlike game with only two penalty minutes so far this year...

Road Swing Rounds Off in Nashville
Tonight marks the final game of the Blackhawks six game road swing (3-0-2, 8/10). Despite starting nine of their first 11 games on the road, Chicago is actually first in the league with a three point lead or more over any other NHL team, and most importantly they have a six point lead in the division over the second place Predators―making tonight's game a must-win for Nashville...
Preds face a 'tough' week at home
If the Nashville Predators were hoping to use Sundays matchup with Central Division rival Chicago as a sort of measuring stick, its time to throw that idea out the window.
