CHICAGO (AP) -- Bryan Bickell and Michal Handzus scored on consecutive shots in the second period, and the Chicago Blackhawks chased goalie Jonathan Quick on their way to a 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday night in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals.

BEST OF MAXIM
It was a night of firsts for the Los Angeles Kings and Jonathan Quick, but the type of night the Kings would like to forget as the Blackhawks cruised to a 4-2 victory and now lead the best of seven series 2-0.
The Kings had gone an NHL-record 34 consecutive playoff games without surrendering more than three goals in a game, but midway through the second period the Blackhawks built...
Working on the rumor chart which will be launching this weekend and took to be honest I thought LA/Chicago was later tonight so I took the kids to Comic Con. My son's favorite place in the world. Follow on Instagram for pictures. I will put up the full blog tonight and will have the Pens/Bruins as well.
So here is the short version...
Jonathan Quick> Crawford. ...
It is really remarkable that the Los Angeles Kings are still around in the Stanley Cup playoffs. to this point the team is expecting goaltender Jonathan Quick to steal then the Stanley Cup. The Kings currently sit 12 out of the 16 teams who made the playoffs in goals per game with 1.93. I have news for the defending Stanley Cup champions if they continue at this rate there will be...
from Cal Cole of the Vancouver Sun,
When did Joel Quenneville first realize that Bryan Bickell could be this good?
“Five years ago when he was first called up,” the Chicago Blackhawks head coach said Sunday morning. “We played him with Toews and Kaner that year. There's ability there. You like his size, his speed. He can shoot and be physical.
The Los Angeles Kings are reeling like a dazed prizefighter as the Chicago Blackhawks have taken a 2-0 Western Conference finals series lead.
Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford shut down 29-of-31 shots Sunday. He was perfect in the first period stopping all 13 Kings attempts.
On the other side of the ice, Kings goalie Jonathan Quick was turned out by Andrew Shaw and Brent Seabrook...

It probably won't come as a surprise that re-signing Bryan Bickell has become the top offseason priority of the Blackhawks.
This has been confirmed for me recently by a source close to the Hawks who told me the club has no intention of "losing another (Dustin) Byfuglien."
I would look for a 3-4 year deal at an average salary of $3-3.5 million...

The 2013 Western Conference Final is far from over. That said, the Blackhawks leave for SoCal not just with a 2-0 series lead, but really all the answers. Thus far.
The truth is, Jonathan Quick, although vanquished to the bench midway through the game last night and replaced by Jonathan Bernier, is still a great goaltender. And Quick is quite capable of...
In what has become a rite of passage as writers transition from playoff hockey to the dog days of summer, the Ottawa Sun’s Don Brennan has penned his annual ‘Senators should go get (INSERT FORMER OTTAWA 67’s PLAYER NAME HERE) this summer.
Some of the names that have been bandied about in recent years include: Zenon Konopka, Brendan Bell, Logan Couture (via a prospective...
Tonight was easily the most lop-sided game the Los Angeles Kings (8-5-2) have played over these 2013 NHL Playoffs, as they were deflated by the Chicago Blackhawks (10-3-1) 4-2. The score does not say exactly how the game went though.
Opportunities and great chances were there for the Kings but nothing could happen right as bounces and deflections went the wrong way, and it just...

GOOD TO BE HOME
The National Hockey League Conference Finals are officially under way as of today. The Boston Bruins (8-3-1) were able to take Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals over the Pittsburgh Penguins (8-2-1) by a final score of 3-0. Earlier in the day though, the Western Conference Finals saw the Los Angeles Kings (8-4-2) fall to the Chicago Blackhawks (9-3-1) 2-1, in a less than exciting...
The Predators want to get bigger for the 2013-14 season.
They have a number of young players who fit that bill and who played well after being called up from the minors (Milwaukee American Hockey League) late in the season, notably Taylor Beck but also Austin Watson and Filip Forsberg.
This trio may yet turn out to be very good NHL players, but there is a difference between waiting...
