The New York Rangers defeated the New Jersey Devils by the score of 3-0 in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Finals matchup. The Rangers lead the series 1-0. For a recap and box score go to Yahoo! Sports.

...that must have been some speech during the second intermission by Torts, because the Rangers were a completely different team in that third period. Very sloppy with the puck in their own zone the first two periods and if it wasn't for a ton of blocked shots the Devils probably have a lead early in this one.

...not sure what it is about seeing Brodeur at the other end of the ice, but man Lundqvist kicks it up a notch when he sees the future Hall of Famer. Must be tough for the Devils to go from playing against "Universe" Bryzgalov to the All World Lundqvist.

...full man crush on Kreider right now (H/T fleisch14). Although after that penalty, I fully expect Kreider to average three minutes of ice time the next four games. lol

...Canadien fans everywhere were sick to their stomach watching McDonagh dominate tonight.

...Girardi went from having his worst game of the playoffs to his best with one slapper from the point.

...Anisimov with his one solid game for the week.

...unselfish play by Boyle to give Anisimov the empty net goal epitomizes this team.

...loved the Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarty chant after the empty net goal. Hysterical.

...don't mean to rain on everyone's parade, but the Rangers also won Game 1 in the first two series, so don't think for one second this is going to be an easy series.

...saw a couple of tweets tonight about Callahan possibly being injured. Definitely hasn't looked like himself lately.

...ice bags for everyone after 26 more blocked shots tonight. 10 combined by Girardi and Staal.

...remember when the Rangers couldn't win a face-off vs. Ottawa? 59% tonight. Richards was 14-for-21.

...six shots on net for Del Zotto? That's got to be a misprint.

...off tomorrow then Game 2 Wednesday night at the Garden.
