JT Miller: Another Reason for Rangers Optimism

The Rangers have drafted very well in recent years and even when going off the board (so to speak) Fans have begun to show full trust in the Rangers power brokers because results are starting to show. Whether it’s the NHL roster, the minor league affiliates of the exploits on junior and college circuits there are countless recent examples of successful Rangers drafting. A great...

Rangers Do Little Things to Win

Larry Brooks at the New York Post has this quote from Michael Del Zotto on why the Rangers have been so successful this season..."Obviously we have some skill, but we do the little things to win games," said Michael Del Zotto. "That's basically the character of our team."...and it's noticeable, not only to Rangers fans, but those around the league as I...

Game Preview: New York Rangers vs Washington Capitals

TONIGHT’S GAME: The Rangers will face-off against the Washington Capitals tonight at Verizon Center (7:30 p.m.), to begin a three-game road trip culminating in the 2012 Bridgestone Winter Classic at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Blueshirts currently rank first in the Atlantic Division standings, and first in the Eastern Conference, with a record [...]

Video: New York Rangers’ HBO 24/7 ugly holiday sweater party

Episode 3 of "HBO 24/7 Flyers Rangers: Road To The NHL Winter Classic" was a combination of on-ice rivalries (featuring often hilarious chirping of opponents) and off-ice holiday gatherings among family, friends and teammates. Teammates in ugly, ugly sweaters. The highlight of the episode in the latter category was the New York Rangers' ugly sweater party. Do not adjust...

Jan Levine: Game 34: NYR 3 NYI 0, Hank and Hagelin Come Up Big, Dubi Line Was Huge

If you read the box score or saw the highlights, much of the focus would be centered on Henrik Lundqvist, Carl Hagelin and Michael Del Zotto. While that is correct to a point, for those that watched the game, or want to go beyond the numbers, the Dubi-Boyle-Mitchell line played just as big, if not a bigger part. While the Rangers got the win, it’s hard to say they completely...

Rangers at Capitals tonight

Interesting hockey day. First, the holiday roster freeze is now over, which means the Rangers could be shedding some bodies soon. And one of those is probably going to be pretty controversial. This afternoon at 3:30, Team USA plays Finland in the World Junior Championships on NHL Network. Your boys start a three-game trip in D.C. against Dale Hunter’s spiraling Capitals at...

Hockey Player’s Ugly X-Mas Sweater Features A Reindeer Threesome (Video)

HBO’s 24/7 series has had many great moments already this season as it follows the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers as they prepare for the Winter Classic, but in my estimation, the appearance in Episode 3 of the above sweater, worn by Rangers defenseman Michael DelZotto at the team’s “Ugly Sweater” holiday party, has [...]

New York Rangers (22-8-4) at Washington Capitals (17-15-2), 7:30 p.m. (ET)

The sizzling New York Rangers will take aim at a sixth straight victory when they visit the Washington Capitals for tonight's clash at the Verizon Center.

Semin, Capitals end Rangers' winning streak at 5

WASHINGTON (AP) Alexander Semin scored twice, Troy Brouwer tallied the tiebreaking goal midway through the second period, and the Washington Capitals halted the New York Rangers ' five-game winning streak with a 4-1 victory on Wednesday night.

Rapid Rewind: Speared

The Washington Capitals were embarrassed, again, by the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night, falling 4-2 inside First Niagara Center.  Michal Neuvirth was pulled after half a period after allowing three goals, and Tomas Vokoun was solid in relief but by then the damage was already done.  Matt Hendricks and Alex Ovechkin made it look more respectable with goals well after the result...
