Back on October 29, the Ottawa Senators came back from a 4-1 defecit to defeat the New York Rangers by a score of 5-4 in a shootout at Madison Square Garden. Fast forward a few weeks later and the Blueshirts are a much different hockey club. The team is currently on a 4-game winning streak and is playing more responsibly in their own zone and when it comes to discipline. According to Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants, Henrik Lundqvist will be back between the pipes for the Blueshirts. He will be coming off his 5-3 vicotry over the Montreal Canadiens last Saturday night and will more than likely look to bounce back from his average performance against the Senators back in late October. Last time these two clubs met, there were some questionable hits. One resulted in the loss of Senators’ captain Daniel Alfredsson as Wolski caught him with his head down. Quick Rangers/Sens Wrap Up: The Anisimov Show

We had some technical difficulties with the blog last night, so we were unable to post a recap right after the game. Artem Anisimov was the star of last night’s game, even if he didn’t get the Broadway hat. Here are your truncated bullets: Anisimov forced the turnover on the first goal, forced another turnover and got the puck to the net on the second goal, and made a simple...

The Good Erik Christensen

Erik Christensen could be one of the most infuriating New York Rangers skaters of all time. When he wants to be, Christensen is one of the most skilled players on the team. The problem is of course the phrase “when he wants to be.” During his first seven games of the year, Christensen was invisible, and played poorly both with the puck and without the puck. The last four games...

Torts: Girardi One of the Most Under-Rated Players in the NHL

John Tortorella talks to Blueshirts United about Dan Girardi's importance to the Rangers..."He doesn't get talked about too much in the league or around here, but I think he is one of the most underrated players in our game. Danny doesn't say much, he's a pretty quiet kid, but how he plays in all the situations he's put in is a tremendous learning tool for...

Stralman Will Not Play Tomorrow vs. Canes

While Anton Stralman did participate in his first practice with the Rangers today, Steve Zipay reports that he will not be in the line-up tomorrow when the Blueshirts face the Hurricanes at MSG.John Tortorella feels he needs a better understanding of the system....a little surprised with this decision. Thought Woywitka made a bad play on Ottawa's second goal last night and hasn...

Artem Anisimov Wearing The Broadway Hat

… AA totally deserves the Broadway Hat after the win against Ottawa. He absolutely had his best game of the season and should have had 3 assists on the night.

Jan Levine: Game 14: NYR 3 OTT 2, Cooking with G.A.S.

In a less than stellar game, the Rangers rode the G.A.S. line along with the continued fine of Dan Girardi plus solid goaltending from Henrik Lundqvist to their fifth straight victory; a 3-2 win over Ottawa on Wednesday. For all the consternation that was given to coach John Tortorella moved Brad Richards down a line and Derek Stepan up to the top grouping; it's only fair...

It’s Go Time!

Game 14. Ya boys on a four-game winning streak. The prediction contest is now officially closed. Don’t forget this is a 7:30 starter. The Rangers  lost to the Senators in that hideous game on Oct. 29, in which they blew a 4-1 lead in the final 10:42 of regulation, then lost a breakaway contest that was held after the hockey game ended. Also in that game, Zenon Konopka...
