Wow.   When you think of this game, this screenshot is all you need: Butthurt. He was having a great night. In two minutes, he went from getting a boner and running home to check Pension Plan Puppets to getting trolled in his favorite team's building by a little boy. FEELINGS The Penguins, most notably the first line, can't lose right now. It is surreal to watch.   This game was a snore fest until about four minutes left when the Pens broke Leafs goalie Ben Scrivens, and then it was just hilarious.   Third-period comebacks are good. The 7-game winning streak is great. Watching the life get sucked out of the ACC is just awesome.   And at the risk of sounding like the biggest fanboys of all time, the best thing to watch right now is Sidney Crosby.   First off, he made a pass that was completely unrealistic on the game-tying goal. Then, on the GWG, he broke up a Phil Kessel pass, sped up t...

Penguins History: Bob Paradise

It might come as a surprise for Penguins fans to learn that a Hall-of-Fame defenseman skated for the team in the mid-to-late 1970s. No, it wasn’t shot-blocker extraordinaire Dave Burrows or even Norris Trophy winner Randy Carlyle. His name was Bob Paradise, and he was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 1989. Mike Lange, rented mules and fried chicken

Legendary Pittsburgh Penguins announcer Mike Lange is someone I wish we could feature more on this website.  His unique, gravelly, enthusiastic calls are like nobody else in the business.  (SCRATCH MY BACK WITH A HACKSAW being my personal favorite)  Last night, the Pens beat the Maple Leafs 3-1 with all 3 goals coming in the 3rd period.  For Pascal Dupuis' game winner with...

Fleury leads Penguins in shutout

Marc-Andre Fleury couldn't help it. With the Pittsburgh Penguins' franchise record for career shutouts in sight late in the third period against the New York Rangers on Saturday, the talented if occasionally erratic goalie let his mind drift. ''I wanted it so bad,'' Fleury said. ''I tried to not jinx it. I was touching wood, but yeah I was looking...

Penguins beat Leafs for 7th in a row

Pascal Dupuis scored two of Pittsburgh's three goals in the third period, and the Penguins stormed back to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs, 3-1, on Thursday night and win their seventh game in a row. Marc-Andre Fleury made 28 saves for Pittsburgh (20-8), which defeated the Maple Leafs, 5-4, in a shootout in Toronto five days earlier. Craig Adams sealed this win by scoring into...

Rangers-Penguins Preview

While many expected a tight race in the Atlantic Division, Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins appear to be head and shoulders above the competition. That shouldn't come as much of a surprise to the New York Rangers. Hoping to stay unbeaten in March, Pittsburgh tries for a seventh consecutive victory over New York as these division rivals square off in a matinee showdown...

Fleury's franchise-record shutout leads the way in 3-0 victory over New York

As Dan Bylsma would say, eight is better than seven. Behind Marc-Andre Fleury the Pittsburgh Penguins were able to notch their eighth straight win, defeating the New York Rangers 3-0 at Consol Energy Center, Saturday afternoon. The Penguins dominated the opening period, got a lead, then locked down the Rangers in the final two periods. Rookie forward, Beau Bennett, got the Penguins...

‘Trader’ Ray

from Joe Starkey of the Pittsburgh Triibune-Review, At some point late in the Penguins' thrilling victory over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, it struck me: Ray Shero is the best trader in the NHL. What's more, he is the best trader in Penguins history — better than Craig Patrick. Even before Brandon Sutter's dramatic game-winner, a quick glance at the Penguins...

Pittsburgh Penguins Gameday 28 - Toronto Maple Leafs

Pittsburgh Penguins (19-8-0) @ Toronto Maple Leafs (15-11-1) ROOT, SNET-O, RDS - 7:00 pm/et Air Canada Centre - Toronto, ON The last Pens/Leafs game from a few days ago was an entertaining contest, except for the Malkin injury of course. The Pens needed a shootout to triumph over the Leafs last time. What will happen tonight with the Pens looking to win seven...

Rangers 0, Penguins 3

The Rangers fell to the Pittsburgh Penguins today by the score of 3-0. For a box score, click here. Observations: Little to no positives to take away from today's game... looked like a typical Rangers-Pens game to me.  If not for Hank, the Rangers are probably looking at a 4-0 deficit after one and possibly Glen Sather working the phones in a room somewhere, if...
