The Detroit Red Wings knew that they could do more than earn two points against the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night, but their 5-0 win over the Sabres involved trying to set up good work habits for a back-to-back slate which continues tomorrow in Dallas (8:30 PM EST, FSD) as much as it did with setting each other up for goal after goal against a defenseless Ryan Miller (with the emphasis on no defense in front of him).
Was there a blemish on the win? Sure. One. When the Red Wings did make history and win their 15th straight at home, they officially entered the record books in front of maybe half a rink’s full of spectators for whom traffic mattered more than being there for the actual, “Being part of history” part of the game.

Miller: “I have not and will not ask for a trade”
Last night a rumor began to spread around the internet that Ryan Miller had asked the Sabres for a trade. Well today that rumor, for now, has been debunked by Miller himself. Miller reportedly said in a text message to a TSN reporter, “I have not and will not ask for a trade. I will fall on the “sabre” before that.” “Please no one ask me again.” Back in November Miller...
GARTH: Miller Twists In Wind
Trust me. I'm not Ryan Miller's PR man. I give him the gears when he deserves it. I prop him up when he deserves it.
What a sickening spectacle. Ryan Miller's teammates quit on him. They lacked compete and passion. 24 minutes into this important game, the Sabres laid down for their Vezina goalie.
Miller was chased from his net after surrendering 5 goals, one of...
What To Do With The Sabres?
from Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News, On the way to Chicago, here’s what I’m thinking after a wacky Monday night in Motown that was easily one of the worst Sabres road games I have ever seen.
—-The Sabres have 36 goals in 20 road games. That’s pathetic. Period.
—-Ryan Miller gave us more great quotes after the game. Sprinkled in an F-bomb too. The more I think about...
Blackhawks Trade Rumors and Ryan Miller
With the Blackhawks recent slump in points production and the issues of team defense surrounding any conversations about the team, Stan Bowman is on the hunt for the magical piece to fix it all and make this team a top contender for the Cup. Some believe that the pieces are already there, and that coaching needs to work it out better, while others point to big holes in the roster...
Goalies Dominate Monday's NHL Action... Except Ryan Miller
There were six games on the NHL slate last night, a rather heavy amount for a Monday, and we saw at least one display of fine goaltending in every matchup.
We saw three shutouts (almost four) in what quickly turned into a league-wide netminder clinic on Monday night. Amidst all the strong play between the pipes, we also saw two goaltenders that were not nearly up to the challenge...
Red Wings-Sabres wrap-up and Wings-Stars set-up: Datsyuk, Wings make history by stomping Sabres
The Detroit Red Wings took a very, very late flight to Dallas on Red Bird II after absolutely stomping on the Buffalo Sabres, defeating Buffalo 5-0 and establishing a record-setting 15-game home ice winning streak before jetting off to face the Stars tonight (:30 PM, FSD/FS Southwest/WXYT).
Usually, such an achievement would produce nothing less than elation from Red Wings fans...
DOY Previews the Sabres
I know things around here haven't been very active in the last month. However, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to get some good old fashioned trolling in from our friends at Days of Y'orr, who happen to be master haters of the Buffalo Sabres. Enjoy and follow Greg at @PezDOY!I feel honored being able to write for Blackhawks Down Low, if only for today. So I've...
Miller
I feel honored being able to write for Blackhawks Down Low, if only for today. So I've been given quite a large task, although I think I can pull it off. Andrew has asked me to inform the Blackhawks fan base the reasons to hate the Buffalo Sabres. Well I hope you have a good pint of ale, a comfy place to rest your ass and some time because this may take a little while. The reason...
Pressure Mounts On Faltering Sabres
NBC Sports analyst Jeremy Roenick has seen enough of the slumping Sabres. He targeted goaltender Ryan Miller and coach Lindy Ruff for the brunt of his on-camera criticism after Buffalo fell 5-0 in Detroit.“I think it's time either that the goaltender gets traded or the coach needs to get fired or they need a new GM but something has to change in Buffalo,” Roenick said.Added...
Detroit Red Wings’ offense explodes, sets new franchise record
The Detroit Red Wings record book, which is one of the more illustrious in the NHL, has been rewritten. The previous club record of 14 consecutive home victories, set in 1965, was broken Monday night when the Wings topped the Buffalo Sabres 5-0.
The Red Wings’ 15th straight victory at Joe Louis arena was in dominating fashion, with the Wings scoring five times in the first 25...
Wings beat Sabres for 15th straight home win
DETROIT -- Once upon a time, the Detroit Red Wings were mired in a six-game losing streak, including three losses at home.
It's hard to believe that was earlier this season, especially now that the Wings appear invincible at Joe Louis Arena.
With Monday night's 5-0 rout of the struggling Buffalo Sabres, the Wings set a new record with 15 consecutive home victories. The...
Bullet Points for Freedom
Much like Jerry Sullivan today, I can't be bothered to try, so here are some BULLET POINTS!
* Has it occurred to anybody else that we're doing to Ryan Miller what we do to everybody in Buffalo? We like him for a while, he exceeds our expectations for a while, and then we are mad at the guy for not continuing to exceed our original expectations. Things have pretty...
GARTH: Cleaning The Mess
A dejected and let-down -down Ryan Miller did his best to keep his composure in his post game presser in Detroit:

Lindy Ruff was short, and to the point:
