Found September 22, 2013 on It's Always Sunny in Detroit:
The Sabres and Maple Leafs are definitely not going through the motions during the preseason.  Well, if the motions include using the other team’s heads as speed bags, then they are all about going through the motion. During Sunday’s game in Toronto, they two teams dropped 20 collective gloves, two blockers and two trappers and danced all over the Air Canada Centre ice. Per NBCSports, the melee included a goalie fight between Jonathan Bernier and Ryan Miller and could very well result in an automatic 10-game suspension for David Clarkson, who left the bench during the mayhem. The whole brawl can be found here at TSN. Here’s a Vine posted of Miller and Bernier chucking knuckles.

WATCH: Leafs D attempts kick shot in shootout

Paul Ranger did his best to liven up a preseason shootout between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Buffalo Sabres. Taking a shot in the 10th round of a meaningless shootout, Ranger called on his foot to deliver one of the most memorable shootout attempts in NHL history.  If only that would have gone in. You can tell by the huge grin on Ranger's face prior to his attempt...

John Scott Claims Phil Kessel Agreed to Fight, Says He Didn’t Target Toronto Star

As the league hands out suspensions following Sunday’s Leafs-Sabres brawl, John Scott is throwing some verbal jabs Toronto’s way. The Buffalo enforcer spoke to the media Monday and addressed the altercation between himself and Phil Kessel. Many have noted the size mismatch and Scott’s apparent violation of hockey’s “code” — a concept as vaguely defined as anything...

Video: Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs have huge brawl in preseason game

This is absolutely crazy. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres got into a massive brawl in a preseason game on Sunday night that even included a goalie fight. And if you’re anything like me, you love a good goalie fight. The brawl began when Sabres heavyweight John Scott initiated a fight with Toronto’s Phil Kessel with 10:01 left in the third period. That came after a...

2013-14 NHL Season Preview: Toronto Maple Leafs

This 2013-14 NHL season preview features the Toronto Maple Leafs. Toronto has been waiting for a consistent winner, let alone a championship for a very long time. Last season, they made the playoffs for the first time in eight seasons. Once there, they pushed the Eastern Conference champion Boston Bruins to the brink in round 1, before a historic collapse allowed Boston to pull out...

The hearing will concern Kessel's participation in a brawl that erupted between the two Maple Leafs and the Buffalo Sabres Sunday night. Leafs-Sabres brawl through exhibition

Buffalo Sabres tough guy John Scott was looking for a fight. The Toronto Maple Leafs weren't happy when he picked Phil Kessel as his opponent. Kessel, who had scored twice in the Leafs' 5-3 preseason win Sunday night, is 6-foot even, and Scott is 6-8. The two aren't even close to being in the same weight class and Kessel wasn't inclined to get involved. Kessel backtracked...

NHL Hockey: Sabres and Leafs Line Brawl.

I predict that there's going to be a few suspensions and fines from this altercation. First, I would be willing to bet that David Clarkson will be looking at a 10-game suspension for jumping over the boards to enter an altercation. That's supposed to be an automatic suspension. This is after Biznasty was just given a 10-gamer for doing the same thing. I don't think that...

Johnston: Leafs-Sabres shenanigans, Clarkson’s indiscretions will ding Leafs roster’s bottom line

The proprietor and I were sort of hoping for a nice, quiet Sunday night on KK, and that seemed to be the case until about 9:30, when the Maple Leafs and Bruins engaged in massive amounts of dumb and/or exciting fighting. Hockeyfights.com posted what may be the longest and most context-setting clip of the bouts (and you will all be shocked, of course, to find out that John Scott was...

Offseason additions add to optimism in Toronto

Maple Leafs general manager Dave Nonis was content with his labors when he met reporters in an offseason July press conference. Just 53 days earlier, his team blew a three-goal lead in the third period of a Game 7 of vs. Boston. Instead of basking in the glow of Toronto's first playoff appearance since 2003-04, Nonis had to ponder what went wrong in that first-round exit, and...
