TEAMS: Edmonton Oilers
Edmonton Oilers center Sam Gagner scored a goal from behind the net, thanks to a couple of lucky bounces, during the third period of Sunday night's game against the Minnesota Wild. Wild forward Mikko Koivu was trying to clear the puck from behind his net, but the puck bounced off Gagner's skate in front of the net, then bounced off Wild defenseman Ryan Suter's stick and into the net. The goal didn't cost the Wild as they scored a power play goal a couple of minutes later and won the game 4-2. Video via NHLVideo. Visit us at and follow us on Twitter @HoldoutSports.

Ryan Suter knocks puck into his own net

During the Minnesota Wild-Edmonton Oilers game, a strange play occurred where the puck bounced out in front of the net and was batted in by Ryan Suter.  Wild captain Mikko Koivu was trying to clear the puck out of the zone and he fired the puck off Oilers forward Sam Gagner’s skate.  The puck caromed off his skate and started fluttering in the air towards Suter.  Suter instinctively...

Oilers add toughness to 4th line, can’t stop there

The Edmonton Oilers aren’t exactly hard to play against, and that certainly isn’t anything you haven’t heard before. While the Oilers have tried to improve team toughness through the trade for Mark Fistric from the Dallas Stars, the team needs a power forward more. The addition of Mike Brown, acquired in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs for a conditional 2014 draft...
