Full disclosure - I won't be able to watch today's game myself as I have a beer league game of my own...an odd Sunday matinee game for beer leagues.  BUT, the NOHS crew has had a busy weekend and it looks like I'm on my own for getting the pre-game stuff up.

Jordan usually packs you all full of stats.  So I'll give you a lighter version of that.  One big piece of news right off the hop...Jimmy Howard will NOT play today as expected.  No set-backs on his return, other than the strong play of Joey MacDonald.

“MacDonald is playing too good.  It gives Howard two more days to practice. Why would I rush it when the other guy’s playing good?'' --Mike Babcock

That quote from NHL.com.

I'm sure Jimmy is chomping at the bit to get back in the net...but who can argue with Babbles' decision when Big Mac has won five in a row?

Make the jump for more.

So the series with San Jose hasn't gone so well thus far.  We've dropped both games by a score of 4-2 and 5-2.  Those who contributed to those four goals have the following stats...

Not too impressive.  And Danny Cleary will still not be able to go today because of his knee.  However, the Sharks will be missing a few of their own...

Martin Havlat - lower body
Jim Vandermeer - upper body
Douglas Murray - upper body

Here is how the two teams' seasons stack up against each other...

Oh and that ONE home loss this season?  That was against San Jose back on October 28th.  So the streak is on the line today against the only team to have beaten us on home ice this season...that's kind of poetic, isn't it?

I hope that's enough pre-game stats package-esque for you.  Like I said, I'm no Jordan - I usually just post quotes, add sarcasim, and maybe a youtube video or two...so lay off.
