Running With The Devils:
This game right here... one word ladies and gentlemen. STATEMENT. The Devils would strike early. The offense was awake, the defense was smart, and our goalie, wow. Martin Brodeur was spot on, shutting down 25 of 26 shot faced, killing off 2 Rangers power play opportunities, and holding his own against Henrik Lundqvist at the other end of the ice. New Jersey nearly dominated every statistic on the evening. 29-26 in shots, 18-12 in hits, 30-29 in faceoffs, that ALONE is a HUGE number in its self. Both teams would go scoreless on the man advantage but it was the resilliency of all 4 lines of the Devils tonight that led to their rather impressive victory over the Blueshirts. *FUN FACT* New Jersey is the only NHL team to beat the Rangers 3 times or more this season. Kovalchuk. I start off here with a few words for Mr. Kovalchuk and his rebound game tonight versus the Rangers. In his 61st game of the year, Kovy added a goal and an assist for 2 points increasing his point total on the ...
BEST OF MAXIM
from Johnette Howard of ESPN New York, They are the best New York sports story going in the city other than Linsanity, and yet they haven’t captured the city’s imagination the way they’re going to if Henrik Lundqvist can just keep his pace up. But whether he can is the question on which the Rangers’ Stanley Cup hopes pivot. Because unlike the 39-year-old master facing him...
Pierre LeBrun at ESPN.com says with the Rangers opening up an eight point lead in the Eastern Conference to expect Henrik Lundqvist to get his fair share of rest down the stretch.LeBrun predicts Lundqvist will play just 11 or 12 of the Rangers final 19 games....this couldn't be working out any better for the Rangers....because the Blueshirts have had to ride Lundqvist down the...

CBS Sports Boston reports that Tim Thomas blamed the dim lighting at MSG for his less than stellar performance (just 13 saves on 17 shots) during the Rangers 4-3 over Boston yesterday. When asked if he is ready for the increased workload that awaits if backup Tuukka Rask is injured significantly, Thomas responded..."Yeah. Especially if I go to an arena with lights."Henrik...
The New York Rangers held their annual Garden of Dreams Casino Night last week at Gotham Hall, and Blueshirts United did a terrific job catching the action on video for those who did not attend. If the New York Rangers want to have any kind of success this upcoming spring, they will need to do just that.
In last night’s 4-1 to the New Jersey Devils, the team looked like they were sleep walking. They put 23 shots on Devils’ netminder Martin Brodeur while giving far too many scoring chances to the Devils as guys like Ilya Kovalchuk, Patrik Elias, and David Clarkson (empty...
Over the next few weeks attention will naturally be on the Rangers sprint towards the finish line, a possible President’s trophy and home advantage in the playoffs; as it should be. However we like to do things a little different here from time to time. Why are the Rangers looking at the President’s trophy? Good drafting that’s why.
The current roster is littered with Rangers...

The past 7 days of Devils hockey was, well, in a sense, hellish. New Jersey had a 1-2-1 record in 4 games played against 4 very difficult NHL clubs in the Rangers, Bruins, Capitals, and Islanders yesterday afternoon. The Devils one victory would be the third game of the week after losing two straight; an Atlantic Division rival matchup between the Rangers in MSG, in which the game...
