Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Henrik Lundqvist, Brad Richards, Claude Giroux, Jaromir Jagr, Ilya Kovalchuk, Patrick Elias, John Tavares... If you made an all-star team out of just players in the Atlantic Division, boy would they be good. The Atlantic Division is easily the best division in the NHL.

The top four teams in the Eastern Conference when it comes to point totals are all from this division. The Rangers have 101 points, the Penguins have 98 points, the Flyers have 96 points, and the Devils have 90 points. All the teams except for the Devils have already clinched a playoff berth.

Sadly, for the Islanders, they are poised to finish out of the playoffs and last in this incredibly tough division for the forth straight year.

Below is how many points each division in the NHL accumulates for...

Atlantic: 456 points (leader- New York)

Northeast: 405 points (leader- Boston)

Southeast: 396 points (leader- Florida)

Central: 437 points (leader- St. Louis)

Northwest: 409 points (leader- Vancouver)

Pacific: 421 points (leader- Dallas)

As you can see, the Atlantic has the lead with a total of 456 points. The only division that comes close to them is the Central who are 19 points behind.

New York, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and New Jersey. I could place a bet right now that a team from this division will go on to win the Stanley Cup. Actually, for my playoff predictions, I think I'm forcasting a New York versus Pittsburgh Conference Final. What do you think?
