This is apparently the Pittsburgh Penguins biggest fan. His parents decided to play a trick on him when the Penguins played the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night. They told him they were rooting for the Red Wings and the little guy went crazy. He even chucked his little helmet at the ground is disgust and screamed like a maniac. He did get the last laugh though when the Penguins won the game 4-1. Nothing like the dedication of a little kid to his favorite team. Like this post? Oh, swell. According to MLive’s Ansar Khan, the Red Wings’ most promising performer of late has suffered a broken hand, and he’s not the only banged-up Wing going into tonight’s game against Nashville (8 PM EST, FSD/FST/WXYT):
Detroit Red Wings forward Chris Conner is expected to be out for two weeks with a hand injury, general manager Ken Holland said today. Holland said...
In a troubling year in which Pens stars have sustained major injuries, goalie Marc-Andre Fleury has become the team's rock.
Penguins defenseman Zbynek Michalek is a good bet to return from a concussion, but while he returns to the lineup, many around the league will be exiting for the same reason.

Line rushes from Thursdayâs practice are:
Jordan Staal, Kris Letang, and now Joe Vitale are missing. Defensemen Zbynek Michalek and Brian Strait are both back, according to the Penguinsâ Web site....
Man, Sidney Crosby, injured again. This really underscores the importance of concussion safety. I mean, Crosby is struggling to recover from one of the most brutal, cheapest shots I have ever seen in my life from Dave Steckel. Honestly, he should have been arrested for that hit, let alone a penalty. David Kreijci isn't nearly as dirty a player because he doesn't play for...
MLive’s Ansar Khan reports that the Red Wings visited with one Brendan Shanahan, former teammate of about a third of the Wings, to talk about something that doesn’t involve reminiscing old times:
The Detroit Red Wings are probably the last team Brendan Shanahan has to concern himself with when it comes to disciplinary matters, since they usually have the fewest fighting majors...

There are many twitter campaigns floating around the interwebs, so I thought we should focus on a few of the important ones over here at NOHS, as well as shamelessly plug the site and ourselves.

Danny Cleary played the sort of game Tuesday that makes his coach happy: Kill penalties. Shoot the puck. Go to the net. Cleary's reward was his first two-goal game of the season -- both in the third period -- to help the Red Wings beat the Penguins, 4-1, at Consol Energy Center.

In the middle of writing my usual gameday column for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators tonight, a rather unfortunate - and if true, disturbing - story has hit the newswire.
According to WCVB Boston, former Boston Bruin and current analyst for NBC Sports Mike Milbury has been accused and subsequently charged of...
The Red Wings (19-9-1) play tonight at Nashville (15-11-4) after beating Pittsburgh 4-1 on Tuesday for their third straight victory and 10th in 12 games. DET have allowed two goals or fewer in 20 of their 29 games. Their 2.17 GA/G ranks fifth in the NHL, comparable to the 2007-08 season, when they allowed the fewest goals in the league (2.18). Jimmy F. Howard is playing Vezina...
