Tim Thomas tends to give fans an exciting game when he’s between the pipes as The Tank is known to flop, flip and finagle every which way when the puck heads crease-ward.
But Thomas, who joined the Panthers this season after taking last year off, is now rocking a brand-new goalie mask and it couldn’t be more lame.
In an era where goalies are known to get creative and have all sorts of fun with new designs, Thomas (unsurprisingly) went against the norm and will reportedly wear the bucket seen in the video below, via Seenive.com.

SUNRISE, Fla. -- For a game worth only two points in the standings, Tim Thomas wanted this win.
Maybe not as much as the victory which earned him a Stanley Cup.
But he still wanted one Thursday.
Moments after falling 3-2 to the Boston Bruins, his former team, since returning from a year-long sabbatical, the Florida Panthers netminder sat in his stall, holding back emotions...
It’s common knowledge at this point that the Florida Panthers don’t exactly have the greatest fanbase in the NHL. It’s also safe to assume that tonight’s Panthers-Bruins game in Sunrise, Florida will be a little more exciting than usual considering Tim Thomas, former Vezina and Conn Smythe winner for the Bruins, will be in net for the Panthers and facing his former team for...
Tim Thomas went through Florida Panthers practice at their practice rink and it appears that he might be ready to play Thursday night when his Panthers take on his old Bruins hockey club at the BB&T Center.
He's questionable for the game after tweaking his groin in the third game of the season for the Panthers and he didn't make the trip with the rest of the club to...
There were many times during his time with the Bruins that Tim Thomas stood on his head and bailed the team out on an off-night by playing out of his mind. It’s one of the reasons he was one of the best goalies in the NHL at one point.
The now ex-Bruin, who probably has pretty strong feelings about bailouts of a different kind, bailed out his former team once more Thursday night...
from George Richards of On Froze Pond,
New Panthers goalie Tim Thomas said he approached Thursday's game like any other. His shaking body in the moments after a hard-fought 3-2 loss to his former teammates belied Thomas' words.
This one stung.
"It hurts the way ended up,'' Thomas said minutes after Reilly Smith -- one of the few Bruins on the ice...
The Bruins came they saw and they conquered Tim Thomas and the Florida Panthers.
Some of the suspense was taken out of the proceedings when the Bruins scored two early goals against the 39-year-old goaltender and a shoddy Florida defense but they also managed to tack on in the closing minute of the third period for a 3-2 victory at a quarter-filled BB&T Center.
The Florida Panthers host the Boston Bruins Thursday night in goaltender Tim Thomas' first game against his former team. The Boston Red Sox are also playing Thursday, in Detroit, looking to take a 3-2 lead in the ALCS before heading back home for Game 6.
The Panthers seem to realize that this could present a problem for attendance at their game, so they're going out of their...
Tonight we’ll witness something we couldn’t have really imagined seeing less than two years ago. Tim Thomas will be in another National Hockey League uniform — the Florida Panthers’ — facing off against the Bruins.
Milan Lucic said this won’t be like any other game.
“It will be (strange)” Lucic said after the Bruins practice at the BB & T Center. “All those...
With Tim Thomas officially the starter between the pipes for the Florida Panthers on Thursday, the Bruins will get a chance to go against a former teammate that they know well.
Don’t expect a mushy reunion, though, because the B’s are treating the game like business as usual. Head coach Claude Julien said that his squad has “turned the page” on the Thomas saga, and is focused...
2 p.m.: It’s going to be a strange sight for the Bruins on Thursday night, as they’re set to take on a former teammate, a player who is largely responsible for one big shiny piece of jewelry they now have.
Thursday night in Sunrise, Fla., will not be a chance for the B’s to take thank Tim Thomas for anything, though.
The B’s will get their first look at the man who backboned...
For the first 59 minutes of Thursday night's game between the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers, the story was how great Tim Thomas was playing against the team he won a Stanley Cup with in 2011. Then Reilly Smith stole the spotlight and the win. Smith scored with 59 seconds left in the third period to break a 2-2 tie and give the Bruins a much needed two points in the...
In a few hours, Tim Thomas will be in goal when the Bruins face off against the Florida Panthers. While unthinkable just a couple of seasons ago, he will be on the other side of the ice. Instead of putting up Vezina worthy numbers for the Bruins, he will be attempting to revive his career while facing down Tuukka Rask, [...]
The Boston Bruins opened up a 1-0 lead in the first period of Thursday’s game against the Florida Panthers with great awareness from defenseman Dennis Seidenberg and a strong move to the net by Daniel Paille.
As Seidenberg skates through the neutral zone, he notices that Panthers defenseman Erik Gudbranson doesn’t have his stick in the right position, so he makes a pinpoint pass...
Reilly Smith scored the game-winning goal with 59 seconds left in the third period and the Boston Bruins beat the Florida Panthers 3-2 on Thursday night.
Smith backhanded the puck into the net between the legs of Tim Thomas after a faceoff in the Panthers' zone. The goal spoiled Thomas' first game against his former team since joining the Panthers as a free agent.
