Found June 07, 2013 on The Awesome Boston:
A.B. We know hockey players are tough. Plenty of NHL’ers play with missing teeth, broken bones and cut-up faces. And while Gregory Campbell’s injury in Game 3 was a season-ender, there is still something about getting stitched up on the bench that is particularly gruesome. After taking a high hit from Pittsburgh Penguin, Beau Bennett, in Game 4 – Boston Bruins rookie defenseman, Torey Krug, experienced the bloody-lip-stitch-ritual and was back on the ice shortly after. There’s no doubt this will help Krug gain “street cred” in the Bruins locker room, but his fiance may not be thrilled about his appearance for their upcoming wedding…

The Boston Bruins Are The 2013 Eastern Conference Champions

Your 2013 Eastern Conference Champion Boston Bruins What a strange year it has been for the NHL and our beloved Boston Bruins. This season has been quite a roller coaster ride, especially so in the regular season. We saw flashes of brilliance, and a significant amount of mediocrity too. There was always that thought of the Bruins hitting the “second gear” to really turn their...

Gregory Campbell’s Determination Didn’t Surprise Bruins Because ‘That’s Who He Is’

The Bruins know that Gregory Campbell is one of the toughest hockey players in the league. The rest of the sports world learned that as well Wednesday night. Campbell’s stock on the Boston sports scene has skyrocketed since Wednesday night where his blocked shot in the Bruins’ win over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals has become a pivotal moment...

Something special Bruin in Boston

The Boston Bruins aren't fancy. The Pittsburgh Penguins are. So, fancy that the Bruins devoured the Penguins in the Eastern Conference finals. They finished a four-game sweep with a 1-0 victory Friday night in Boston. The victory completed one of the most dominant series in NHL playoff history. For instance, defenseman Paul Martin led the Penguins with two points. Those would...

Sweet Chin Music: Bruins’ Seguin Elbows Ference During Celebration (PHOTO)

NHL players can even get hurt in times of celebration. When the Bruins swept the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference, it was a  moment for joy and happiness. Unfortunately for Andy Ference,  it was a time to get a chin full of elbow from teammate, Tyler Seguin (far right). Make Seguin was getting Ference back for all the ball bustin’ on Twitter.

Video- Marchand Knees Kunitz And He Slashes Marchand

Do you think the refs would have called the kneeing penalty on Brad Marchand if Chris Kunitz would not have retaliated with the slash? Both did receive penalties and rightfully so.

What Does Syrio Forel, Arya Stark, And The Boston Bruins Say To Jarome Iginla?

You might have missed this part when watching Syrio Forel teach Arya Stark how to “dance”. The First Sword of Bravos could teach a thing or two to a slow and much maligned Jarome Iginla. He never got his skating legs going, and one has to wonder if chasing a cat throughout King’s Landing might have helped the aging winger like it did for Arya. The Boston Bruins have eliminated...

One More Time: Bruins Heading Back to the Stanley Cup Final

Pinch yourself, what you just witnessed over the course of seven days really happened. The Boston Bruins closed out the Pittsburgh Penguins at TD Garden with a 1-0 score courtesy of an Adam McQuaid rocket-blast 5:01 into the third period. The Bruins are on their way to their second Stanley Cup appearance in three years where they will take on either the Chicago Blackhawks or the Los...

Bruins Survive Final Penguins Surge in Closing Seconds to Clinch Stanley Cup Final Bid (Video)

The Bruins took a 1-0 lead into the final minute of Game 4 on Friday, but the Penguins would not go down without a fight. With goalie Tomas Vokoun pulled for an extra skater, Pittsburgh unleashed one last flurry in the Boston zone. Pascal Dupuis nearly capitalized with Tuukka Rask on his knees outside the crease, but the Bruins’ scrambling defense prevented the Penguins from getting...

Boston Bruins: Last Two Weeks By The Numbers

By The Numbers lives on. If you haven’t heard by now, the Bruins swept the Penguins Friday night to earn a second trip to the Stanley Cup Finals in the last three years. Here’s a much closer look at the series as the Bruins’ season continues. The best offense in the league scored just two goals in more than four full games in the Eastern Conference Finals. 0: Torey Krug has...

Bruins Edge Penguins 2-1 in Second Overtime of Thrilling Game 3

By: Rich Bergeron    The Boston Bruins battled the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday night for nearly five full periods of riveting hockey. It was the closest game so far in the Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Finals until Patrice Bergeron put the Bruins up three games to none with a soft touch of his stick in front of the net off a hard pass from Brad Marchand. The goal came with...

Bruins Look To Close Things Out, Return To Stanley Cup Finals

The Bruins look to finish off the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight in game four. Only the most miserable people in existence are bothering to bring up the collapse against the Flyers up 3-0 back in 2010. A couple quick things today as I wrap up a very busy real world week. (rollout of a Shortel VOIP for 130 users) Keith Olbermann back to baseball — his ‘passion’ - Chad Finn looks...

NHL Playoff Observations -- Brooms Come Out

Just a few things that caught my eye: Best save of the night? Zdeno Chara's backhanded snag in the last minute. That stung, but not as much as it would have had the puck found twine. Tuukka Rask, second-best goalie in the world or just lucky? Discuss. Patrick Kane finally showed up Thursday night. He even back checked. Amazing. Bryan Bickell...

Who Would've Thunk It?

Three weeks ago the Bruins were clinging on life support. After blowing a 3-1 series lead in the first round vs Toronto the Bruins looked like their season was coming to a close. 10 minutes to go down 4-1, every Bruins fan was talking about blowing the team up. But, we all know what happened next the Bruins got that extra kick of life, scoring 3 straight un-answered goal and the...

Marchand and Kunitz incident gif

s/t to Nicholas Scibetta. Okay, I have to admit that this was a bush league move, I admit. Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand was given a two minute minor penalty for kneeing and Pittsburgh Penguins forward Chris Kunitz was given a two minute minor for slashing.
