*THE FOLLOWING BELOW IS NOT WRITTEN BY THE ROYAL HALF, BUT RATHER PUMPERNICHOLL, OUR MASTER RECAPPER* GAME 1: KINGS 1, HAWKS 2 GAME 2: KINGS 2, HAWKS 4   Ho hum, the Los Angeles Kings are back in the Western Conference Final. Just four wins away from capturing the greatest trophy in sports – The Clarence S. Campbell Bowl – the Kings first had to face off against the President's Trophy-winning Chicago Blackhawks, a team that has given them fits over the past few seasons. It was going to be a highly contested series that could go the full seven games, or just as easily result in a sweep for either team. One of those strange series where the teams were so evenly matched that no result would be surprising. However, I liked the Kings chances against the record-setting Blackhawks. As long as Jonathan Quick kept his team in the game and could get inside the Hawks' heads, and leading scorer Mike Richards stayed healthy, I saw no problem for the defending champions... ...oh god.   Let's just get this over with. Click Here to Read the Rest of PumperNicholl's RECAP of Game 1 & 2 vs the Blackhawks!!! *Note: The back-to-back games coupled with my indefinite Twitter Jail sentence (#FreePumperNicholl) made this two-game recap a bit trickier. If this is your first visit, what the hell took you so long? Also, the typical game-style recaps will be back for Game 3 if I haven't drank my weight in vodka and Bud Light Lime during the third period.   #******… — 0.0 (@djarum) June 2, 2013 Oh this should be fun. ...or the complete opposite.   **** Jonathan Quick, **** Dustin Brown,**** Daryl Sutter, and **** the entire Los Angeles Kings roster. Jonathan Quick makes ridiculous save with his blocker

Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick had a rough outing in Game 2 against Chicago, but it appears that he has a quick memory.  Late in the third period up 2-1, the Kings netminder made a ridiculous save on Blackhawks forward Bryan Bickell.  He used the inside of his blocker to swat the puck away and keep the Kings narrow lead intact.  The Kings went on to win the crucial game...

A forgettable night of firsts for Kings in 4-2 loss

It was a night of firsts for the Los Angeles Kings and Jonathan Quick, but the type of night the Kings would like to forget as the Blackhawks cruised to a 4-2 victory and now lead the best of seven series 2-0. The Kings had gone an NHL-record 34 consecutive playoff games without surrendering more than three goals in a game, but midway through the second period the Blackhawks built...

Jonathan Quick makes an incredible save

The Los Angeles Kings beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 on Tuesday night to tighten up their Western Conference finals series. The Blackhawks’ lead has been cut to 2-1, but that never would have happened without the heroics of Kings goalie Jonathan Quick in Game 3. We’ve shared some incredible saves by Quick in the past, but the stop he made on Blackhawks forward Bryan Bickell...

Quick chased as Kings fall to 0-2 vs. Chicago

CHICAGO (AP) -- Bryan Bickell and Michal Handzus scored on consecutive shots in the second period, and the Chicago Blackhawks chased goalie Jonathan Quick on their way to a 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday night in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals. Andrew Shaw and Brent Seabrook also scored as the rolling Blackhawks grabbed a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven...

LA Kings must find offense in Game 2

It is really remarkable that the Los Angeles Kings are still around in the Stanley Cup playoffs. to this point the team is expecting goaltender Jonathan Quick to steal then the Stanley Cup. The Kings currently sit 12 out of the 16 teams who made the playoffs in goals per game with 1.93. I have news for the defending Stanley Cup champions if they continue at this rate there will be...

Videos: Chicago Blackhawks push Kings around in Game 2

The Los Angeles Kings are reeling like a dazed prizefighter as the Chicago Blackhawks have taken a 2-0 Western Conference finals series lead. Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford shut down 29-of-31 shots Sunday. He was perfect in the first period stopping all 13 Kings attempts. On the other side of the ice, Kings goalie Jonathan Quick was turned out by Andrew Shaw and Brent Seabrook...

Blackhawks Give Kings Royal Loss In Game 2

Tonight was easily the most lop-sided game the Los Angeles Kings (8-5-2) have played over these 2013 NHL Playoffs, as they were deflated by the Chicago Blackhawks (10-3-1) 4-2. The score does not say exactly how the game went though. Opportunities and great chances were there for the Kings but nothing could happen right as bounces and deflections went the wrong way, and it just...

Kings hang on to beat Blackhawks in Game 3

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Slava Voynov had a goal and an assist, Jonathan Quick made 19 saves, and the Los Angeles Kings beat Chicago 3-1 in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals on Tuesday night, trimming the Blackhawks' series lead to 2-1. Justin Williams also scored and Dwight King added an empty-net goal in the defending Stanley Cup champions' 15th consecutive home victory...

Kings Drop Game 1 To Blackhawks, Look To Bounce Back Tomorrow

The National Hockey League Conference Finals are officially under way as of today. The Boston Bruins (8-3-1) were able to take Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals over the Pittsburgh Penguins (8-2-1) by a final score of 3-0. Earlier in the day though, the Western Conference Finals saw the Los Angeles Kings (8-4-2) fall to the Chicago Blackhawks (9-3-1) 2-1, in a less than exciting...
