A coach that is on the hot seat. A player brought in via a trade that is not fitting in with his new system. And a backup goalie that is struggling to find his form early in the season. I guess these two teams do have a lot in common, huh?

Oh... I've just been told that apparently Roberto Luongo is NOT
the backup goalie for the Vancouver Canucks. My mistake.

I think it's funny when Canucks fans accuse David Booth of struggling since he's come over to the Vancouver Canucks in a trade for former King, Marco Sturm. Because even though he's only managed 1 goal and 3 assists in 7 games with the Canucks... he's still outscoring Dustin Penner by 1 point. So consider yourself lucky, Canucks fans. But the person on the Kings who is most excited about David Booth being in the Western Conference is Mike Richards... so that this time... he can finish the job.

So weird that Booth hasn't been the same player since this hit.

Well, we had a lot of fun on Tuesday night with Dustin Penner's incredibly impressive secondary assist followed by a primary assist performance. So tonight, for Penner Point... we are going to swtitch it up. For the game against the Canucks, you have to pick the time and period that Dustin Penner SCORES AN ACTUAL GOAL. None of this secondary assist ********... it's time to man up when it comes to Penner Point. So for your chance to win a free t-shirt from The Royal Half Gift Shoppe... simply guess the time and period before the game starts in the comments below or you can reply to me on Twitter with the hashtag #PennerPoint. Good luck and godspeed.

Tsk Tsk! Are Vancouverites wrapped up in the Canucks Cult?

The Grey Cup is coming to Vancouver, and there's no fanfare. Steve Lee is up in arms. Face it Vancouverites, despite the successes of the Lions, Canadians and at some point hopefully the Whitecaps, the sports circus in the Lower Mainland is nothing but a one trick pony, the Vancouver Canucks.

Peter Tessier: Mason Raymond talk and 2012 prospects

Canucks News Not much going on in Canuck world right now. The boys are relaxing in lovely Los Angles while preparing to play the Kings tomorrow night. Mason Raymond skated for the first time with the team the other day and looked pretty good. I'm expecting he'll be back in 2-3 weeks. In my opinion, the mental part of the comeback will be harder than the physical. It...

Peter Tessier: Game Day: Canucks visit the Kings

The Vancouver Canucks face one of the stingiest teams in the NHL tonight. The Canucks are flying high and well rested, after a 6-2 beat down of their archrivals the Chicago Blackhawks and three days off. The Kings are struggling right now and despite collecting points in three of their last six games, they only have one win to show for it. It will be key for Vancouver to get a quick...

So when the team held a memorial for Demitra and another former Blue killed in the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv team jet crash, Igor Korolev, Tkachuk paid tribute to his linemate and friend. Tkachuk recited Demitra's many attributes on the ice during Tuesday night's pre...

Dean Lombardi’s damning praise of Dustin Penner

The Royal Half, one of our favorite Los Angeles Kings blogs, is running a contest called "Penner Point." The premise is simple: Pick the time and period in a given game when Kings forward Dustin Penner picks up "his first point of the night," and win a free shirt. The good news: The Royal Half still has a large inventory of shirts. The bad news: Dustin Penner...
