NO! What happens when there is a noon start for Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals and you want to write a detailed Gameday Post but you are constantly told by the Los Angeles Kings to arrive at 7am in an effort to avoid traffic?  This is what happens. I gotta leave for the game, folks. So here are a bunch of awesome photoshops from Indiana Matt celebrating Brad Doty's Drew Doughty's takedown of Shane Doan. And a brand new Ironsight Design/Indiana Matt TRH T-Shirt has been unveiled celebrating the latest playoff rookie sensation! Buy your Dwight King shirt here. In creating the Dwight King t-shirt, we here at TRH noticed one peculiar thing. Dwight King makes crazy faces. I'm taking my Dad to the game today so I may not be Tweeting as much during the game because he'll keep asking me why I am constantly checking my email on my phone. The last Playoff game we went to together was in 1992 when the Los Angeles Kings lost their 1st Round series against the Edmonton Oilers 4-2. I'm pretty sure he won't think the game has changed one bit. GO KINGS GO!

Kings fight excitement about playoff run

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) -- Dwight King has been living in a hotel since the Los Angeles Kings recalled him from the minors just over three months ago, and the playoff hero isn't about to move out of his temporary digs. He's not tempting fate while the Kings are on the verge of exceeding his wildest dreams for his first NHL postseason run. Los Angeles is on the brink of...

Doan delivers to keep Coyotes' hopes alive

LOS ANGELES -- Shane Doan was livid. The cameras and tape recorders were off, but the Phoenix Coyotes captain lingered in the locker room after Game 3 of the Western Conference final, venting his displeasure to a reporter while sitting in another players stall. It wasnt just the loss and the 3-0 series hole that had Doan annoyed. The Game 3 officiating was playing a starring role...

Coyotes beat Kings to avoid sweep

Shane Doan scored two goals, Mike Smith made 36 saves in his third playoff shutout, and the Phoenix Coyotes emphatically avoided playoff elimination with a 2-0 victory over the Los Angeles Kings in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals on Sunday. Ray Whitney and Antoine Vermette had assists for the Coyotes, who escaped a series sweep by snapping the eighth-seeded Kings' eight...

Power play, net presence absent in Kings' loss

There may be a few dents in the Los Angeles Kings' seemingly impenetrable shell, after all. By dropping a 2-0 decision to the Phoenix Coyotes on Sunday afternoon at Staples Center, the Kings lost for the first time in over a month and showed that home close-out games while nursing a three-games-to-none series lead don't necessarily bring out the best of their recent playoff...

Kings taking on playoffs one game at a time

LOS ANGELES In six weeks, the Los Angeles Kings have evolved from Clowed-out to close-out. They are in the process of putting to rest many of the intangibles that have been inflicted upon the organization since Jacques Demers called Kerry Fraser to his bench with 1:45 remaining in Game 2 of the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals. From the suspect goaltending spread over so many seasons, injuries...

Shane Doan's second goal

Phoenix Coyotes forward Shane Doan scored two big goals to help the Coyotes extend the Western Conference Finals series between the Phoenix Coyotes and the Los Angeles Kings. With the victory last night by the Coyotes in Los Angeles, game five is tomorrow night at 8:00 PM Central in Glendale, Arizona, at Arena. Related articles Shane Doan wouldn't let the...

Second chance for Doughty

No one has ever questioned Drew Doughty skill level. Only Steve Stamkos was drafted higher in 2008, and even questioned that move. But the one knock against him since his days in junior has been his compete and conditioning level. The nickname "Doughnuts" is not exactly flattering to a player with out of this world talent.  But when he broke into the league as an 18...

LA's bold marketing strategy isn't just online

The Los Angeles Kings have made plenty of noise with their new rambunctious social media strategy. They have given the LA Twitter account a distinctive, controversial voice that has brought in waves of new followers and waves of new critics.  Thanks to a post over at Reddit Hockey, we can see that LA's controversial marketing strategy has spilt over into the real world. As...

Return to road might be advantage for Kings

The Los Angeles Kings can't really explain their success on the road in these playoffs. They just hope it continues. The Kings blew an excellent chance to wrap up the Western Conference Finals on Sunday afternoon, as they lost 2-0 to Phoenix at Staples Center. The series now shifts to Phoenix, where the Coyotes should, theoretically, retain the advantage, but this hasn'...

Los Angeles Kings Display Is Gold

The marketing and P.R. department for the Los Angeles Kings must love and hate this, we are assuming they are not the ones who actually footed the bill for this. WIth the Stanley Cup Finals one win away we hope to see more like this. via Puck Daddy Article found on: Cosby Sweaters

TRH Playoff Recap Game 4 - Phoenix Coyotes: A Couple of Great Ones

Sure, it was a classy move by the Los Angeles Kings organization to invite the Alumni of the 2011-2012 Regular Season team to Staples Center for Game 4... but honestly... who cares? I got to take my Dad to Round 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. And that's pretty cool. Honestly... this photo above is the second most awesome photo that involves my Dad and hockey... This is the...

With Game 4 loss, Kings show mortality

During yesterday's matinee, the Phoenix Coyotes finally broke through against the Los Angeles Kings, winning their first game of the series by a 2-0 score. Jonathan Quick was not perfect and the Kings offense was not dynamic. In short, they looked beatable-- a description they avoided through their first 13 games. Was the Kings' first loss in 32 days a product of their weakness...

Coyotes stay alive with shutout win in Game 4

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Cancel the coronation, or at least postpone it. The Phoenix Coyotes are still hanging around. Shane Doan scored two goals, Mike Smith made 36 saves in his third playoff shutout, and the Coyotes emphatically avoided playoff elimination with a 2-0 victory over the Los Angeles Kings in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals on Sunday. Ray Whitney and Antoine Vermette...

Kings coach Darryl Sutter pulls a Tortorella when addressing accusations of players taking dives

The Preakness Stakes race’s 6 PM start yielded a very, very early matinee game between the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils today, and as our friends at NBC seem to prefer to not mess with their Sunday evening lineup, the Los Angeles Kings and Phoenix Coyotes will play at 3 PM EDT—a noon start, local time—on Sunday. Due to conflicting cross-continental schedules and locales...

Kings-Coyotes Preview

The Phoenix Coyotes had every reason to concede the Western Conference finals to the Los Angeles Kings. They had been overwhelmed in opener, lost their composure in Game 2 and found themselves on the brink of elimination despite playing better the third game. Even with a sweep, it would have been considered a good season in Phoenix. That's just not the makeup of this team....
