Via Pro Hockey Talk’s James O’Brien, TSN’s Ryan Rishaug is reporting that the Edmonton Oilers are doing something very smart given the looming expiration of the current CBA:
The Edmonton Oilers have resumed preliminary talks with forward Taylor Hall’s representatives on a contract extension, according to TSN’s Edmonton bureau reporter Ryan Rishaug.
Hall, 20, is entering the final season of his three-year entry level contract. He is set to make $2.85 million for the 2012-13 campaign.
In 61 games with the Oilers last season, he scored a 27 goals and 53 points, up from the 22 goals and 42 points he tallied in his rookie campaign.
