Found February 24, 2012 on Puck Drunk Love:
There is an old saying out there that states, "when it rains, it pours". This phrase is usually associated with the notion that when something goes wrong, everything will go wrong. Many will believe that this specific idiom can easily be applied to Columbus Blue Jackets as of late. Not only are they statistically the worst team in the National Hockey League, they recently unloaded one of their unhappy star forwards to the Los Angeles Kings in an uneven trade. The trade did not come as a surprise, since there were plenty of rumors that the club was trying to unload Jeff Carter to another team. What did come as a surprise was that the club was experiencing off ice issues as well - particularly in the new media department. Less than 24 hours after the Carter trade, those who followed the official Columbus Blue Jackets twitter account (@BlueJacketsNHL) began to notice a high amount of activity. The account began to answer an endless stream of questions that were directed towa...

Richards, Carter reunited in L.A.

The most important question might be, is Jeff Carter a dog person? Thursday night, shortly after the Kings announced that they had acquired Carter from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Jack Johnson and a first-round draft pick, Carter&...

First domino falls as Kings land Carter

When he returned to the lineup on February 3 after missing 10 games because of a separated shoulder, Jeff Carter spoke of the challenge of finding consistency in an injury-plagued start to his Columbus Blue Jackets career after signing an 11-year, 58-million dollar extension with Philadelphia less than a year before the Flyers dealt him to Columbus on June 23. "It has been...

Trade Confirmed: Jeff Carter Is The Newest L.A. King

The Kings have officially traded defenseman Jack Johnson and a first round pick for Blue Jackets center Jeff Carter. Carter, who spent six seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers before being traded to the Jackets, will be reunited with his good friend and drinking buddy Mike Richards. Hopefully these two will be able to light it up like they did in Philly and bring the Kings out...

John Jaeckel: Hawk Rumors, 70 Hours Out

I heard from two sources this morning. The first filled me in more on the Jeff Carter Drama; what happened, what didn’t and why. The Hawks, while apparently interested in Carter, were very leery of the way Columbus GM Scott Howson came to them about his player earlier this week. They were allegedly worried that any offer they might make would be used as mere leverage to...

JC Superstar Born Again in the City of Angels

So why does it feel like I just used Jeff Carter as the headline in one of my posts?  Oh, because I did.  In fact here is a snippet of what I said just 2 days ago:  “Despite that enormous contract, other teams will trade for him too (I am of the opinion that Carter, not Nash will be the one headed out of Colombus).  And if you own Carter that is good news.   Literally anywhere...

Report: Jeff Carter Traded To LA, Joins Mike Richards

Tha Carter

So let me see if I'm doing my math correctly here... + = So Dean Lombardi is able to bring in a player with nearly 200 goals in his first 500 games for an expendable defenseman and a #1 pick in either the 2012 or 2013 draft? And this player is best friends with Mike Richards? And he didn't have to trade his backup goalie? Why that's enough to make anyone associated...
