Found April 26, 2012 on The Hockey Program:
Yes the Turkeys are back but they brought their lunch pail with them for this quick edition on the worst of Round 1. If you had these guys in your pools, you are probably dead in the water!  Now we really do bring the masses something new.  The Program now presents yes "The Fantasy Toolbox".  See below.....   (Wow this thing does look dingy enough.....)   The point is that an award for something this bad should be something that looks and smells just as awful.  The turkeys are still around so do not fret but we needed a little spice to this mix and this seems to work well.  Did you want to see the nominees?  In this awards nomination time of year, we wanted to see the worst of the worst also so we could throw tomatoes at them.  Here we go.....   OUR ROUND 1 Fantasy Toolbox Nominations..... =========================================== Patrick Marleau -- San Jose Sharks The Forward managed to lay an egg at the worst possible time with zero goals and zero points for...

Patrick Marleau: the canary who won’t sing?

Doug Wilson says you need to keep your head, take emotion out of the equation when deciding what changes to make in the offseason.  As a fan, I have no responsibility to do that. Additionally, I lack information, as a lot of people do.  What we see from outside the organization, even what is shared with the media, is so limited as to only be a glimpse of the whole picture. That...

San Jose losing ATP stop, Rio lands new event

The Bay Area's only stop on the ATP World Tour will soon be no more. The 123-year-old event in San Jose, currently called the SAP Open, is moving to Memphis in 2014. The Memphis tournament is being sold and shifted to Rio de Janeiro. The ATP Board of Directors approved the sale of the Memphis membership this week to IMX for operation of the 500-level event in Brazil. The ATP...

GARTH: Shark Hunting?

The San Jose Sharks missed the mark. Again. They failure to make a run to the Stanley Cup Finals has their GM, Doug Wilson, and their coach, Todd McLellan, contemplating changes inside the organization. “Changes can come in many ways. We changed nine or ten players last season. We’re in full review now of every thing. There is some good things that happened, and...

Farewell to the Red Wings and Sharks

It wasn’t long ago that the Detroit Red Wings and San Jose Sharks were two of the best teams in the Western Conference — if not the league. Just last year, in fact, the Sharks were the No. 2 seed in the West and the Wings were No. 3. The Sharks eliminated the Wings in the Western Conference semifinals in seven games before losing to the Vancouver Canucks in the conference final...

Trades In San Jose, Moving Thomas?

Darren Dreger of TSN answers some emails… Realistically, what should we expect from Doug Wilson this summer?  Who stays, who goes, and do you think any big name players will be added via trade (e.g., Nash) or free agency (e.g., Parise)? A:  it’s possible Wilson once again attacks his core in an effort to push this team over the hump, but it seems unlikely.  Thornton, Couture...

Another Atlantic Altercation Awaits - ECSF Preview

You might almost be inclined to call the Flyers lucky. The only way to overcome their defensive shortcomings versus the Penguins last round was to put on a supreme display of offensive and special teams work. The Flyers rose to the challenge in record breaking fashion, dominating Pittsburgh with a lethal power play and slick penalty killing, a tenacious offense hell bent on disrupting...
