TUESDAYS STORYLINES: After spending all day Monday traveling cross-country from Anaheim to Columbus, the Wild were back on the ice for morning skate at Nationwide Arena. There was a new face on the ice as the Wild announced Casey Wellman was recalled from Houston (AHL) today. Wellman is second in the AHL with 10 goals, seven of which came on the power play. Mike Yeo said Wellman has been "playing great" in Houston and is a game-time decision tonight. Yeo feels Wellman can add offense to the lineup and compete at this level. "From what I have heard and from what I am understanding, his goals have been the kind of goals that you can score in this league too, they have been from around the blue paint. Obviously he has great skill, he has a great shot, but goal scorers have to be around the net, they have to score the dirty ones as well." If Wellman does play, Yeo wouldnt indicate what forward would be taken out of the lineup. HE SAID IT: "They have had a lot of injuries and we know that we are not facing a team that, obviously the projections of where this team was supposed to be, is a little bit more indicative of what we could be facing tonight. They have got their guys' backs and I think if anything we should be prepared to face a very desperate team, and I dont see any reason why our guard should come down." AROUND THE RINKS: Blue Jackets are NHL's worst

At the start of the month, the Columbus Blue Jackets were among the worst teams in the NHL and had Ken Hitchcock along for the ride. He had coached the Blue Jackets before, was still with the organization as a consultant and his name swirled in rumors that he'd take over for embattled coach Scott Arniel. When the Blue Jackets decided not to make a change, the St. Louis Blues...

Pressure On Nash In Columbus

from Dan Rosen of NHL.com, He is the face of a struggling franchise that has become the butt of several poor-taste yet arguably just jokes. He is the captain and the guy that is in the second of an eight-year contract that pays him $62.4 million. He is the leader of a franchise that has never won a playoff game and has gone 3-13-1 to start the season. “When you win, everyone looks...

The Western Conference Free-For-All

It's safe to the say the Columbus Blue Jackets won't be a factor in the Western Conference playoff race this season. They are 3-13-1 and frozen in a state of organizational paralysis. There is no digging out of such a hole in this conference. Otherwise, just six points separate the teams standing fourth to 14th on this side of the NHL. Former Blue Jackets coach Ken Hitchcock...
