Found April 08, 2013 on Kukla's Korner:
from Derek Van Diest of the Edmonton Sun, Justin Schultz is not sure what to expect when he steps on the ice at the Honda Center Monday to face the Anaheim Ducks. Perhaps the biggest boos will rain down from the seats of the Ducks executive, having failed to come to terms with the talented defenceman, allowing him to pick his destination. Schultz will face the Ducks for the first time when the Oilers round out their four-game road trip against one of the top teams in the Western Conference. "We'll see when game time comes, whatever happens, it is what it is," said Schultz. "I've thought about what it would be like. But I've played a lot of games before this, so we'll see what happens. "But I think being able to get into the league and play a lot of games before coming here might make it a little easier." continued

Steve Palumbo: No Love for Justin (or Nick) Schultz in Anaheim

The Anaheim Ducks and Edmonton Oilers are separated by 20 points in the standings. Typically that would mean a game between two teams going in opposite directions wouldn't require a second look, but this game was not just another game. This game featured Justin Schultz and his return to Anaheim for the first time since turning his back on the team that drafted him and opting...

Anaheim and Dvorak Defeat Edmonton 2-1

Before the lockout many Ducks fans had a date circled on their calendar for when the Oilers were going to be coming to town.  That date got pushed back, but fans nonetheless were ready and waiting for Edmonton rookie, Justin Schultz. Schultz was drafted by the Ducks in 2008 and he played for the University of Wisconsin.   He played so well that the Ducks traded away another...

Dvorak's 2 goals help Ducks beat Oilers

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Radek Dvorak scored two goals, Jonas Hiller made 27 saves after missing four games because of an illness, and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 on Monday night. The Ducks moved closer to their second Pacific Division title in franchise history and first since their 2006-07 Stanley Cup championship season. They lead Pittsburgh by one point for...

Ducks top Kings, near division title

Corey Perry scored late in the second period and added the winning goal in the shootout, leading the Anaheim Ducks closer to the Pacific Division title with a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday night. Matt Beleskey scored the tiebreaking goal on a power play for Anaheim with 15:06 to play, but Kings captain Dustin Brown tied it with 3:45 left in regulation in the third...

Ducks Best Kings in Shootout 4-3

When the Ducks and Kings get together, it never disappoints.  Good, bad, so-so, both teams find the necessary energy and enthusiasm (not to mention a certain level of hate) to make the games worth watching. The 4-3 shootout win by the Ducks on Sunday was no exception. "We knew it was going to be an emotional game out there," said Corey Perry. "They’ve been...

Oilers-Ducks Preview

After earning a pivotal victory, the Anaheim Ducks will try to move closer to a Pacific Division title by continuing their recent dominance over the Edmonton Oilers. With the statuses of captain Ryan Getzlaf and goaltender Jonas Hiller unclear, the Ducks will try to win the first of three meetings with the Oilers over the next two weeks Monday night. Despite being short-handed...

Richard Cloutier: Do Oilers Fans Have a Right to be Angry?

I'm on Twitter, so sign me up! @rdcloutier One of my followers on Twitter is named Samantha Costa. She wrote the following comment after the Oilers loss to the Anaheim Ducks: "Being pissed off about your team playing bad isn't "jumping the bandwagon." Just because we like a team doesn't mean we need to be blind." I liked this comment. I think...

Kings Forget They Had a Hockey Game Tonight by   Jack Weber

After a strong performance was only enough to earn a single point in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, the Kings, with their hopes of ever winning a Pacific Division title all but dashed now that they entered tonight 11 points back (with nine games left in the regular season, just [...]

Avalanche-Ducks Preview

Qualifying for the postseason and winning a division title are accomplishments Anaheim Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau won't downplay, but he's also made it clear he's set his sights much higher than that. Anaheim can move closer to the Pacific Division crown Wednesday night by dealing the last-place Colorado Avalanche a season-worst sixth consecutive defeat. The Ducks ...

Kings Kiss Division Good Bye by   Jack Weber

After an impressive win over the Edmonton Oilers yesterday, the Kings headed on down the freeway to take on the Anaheim Ducks. I touched on this after yesterday’s game, but this was a very important game for the Kings. The Kings and Ducks entered today each with 10 games remaining in their respective regular seasons, [...]
