The 2012 Stanley Cup Finals will guarantee history as either the Western Conference champion Los Angeles Kings (8th seed) or the Eastern Conference champion New Jersey Devils (6th seed) will become the highest (or lowest, depending on your worldview) seed to lift Lord Stanley's Cup.  The NHL has been blessed with an outstanding playoffs to this point, and the Finals shouldn't disappoint.  It'll be very interesting to see how the ratings stack up compared to the success of the last few years with Boston, Chicago, Philly, Detroit, and Pittsburgh involved though.

Nevertheless, these are two exciting, compelling teams.  There are stars to market here for the NHL and NBC too with Marty Brodeur and Zach Parise for the Devils and Dustin Brown and Jonathan Quick for the Kings just to name a few.  The Kings are going for their first ever Stanley Cup while the Devils are chasing their 4th, all since 1995.

NBC televises Games 1 & 2 from New Jersey before NBC Sports Network takes Games 3 & 4 from Los Angeles.  All games afterward are scheduled for NBC.  The series follows the preferable 2-2-1-1-1 format with games on Wednesday, Saturday, and Monday nights.  Your announcers for each game are the sublime Doc Emrick along with analysts Eddie Olczyk in the booth and the tight-lipped Pierre McGuire at ice-level.  Here's the schedule...

Wednesday, May 30

Game 1: Los Angeles @ New Jersey (NBC 8PM)

Saturday, June 2

Game 2: Los Angeles @ New Jersey (NBC 8PM)

Monday, June 4

Game 3: New Jersey @ Los Angeles (NBCSN 8PM)

Game 4: New Jersey @ Los Angeles (NBCSN 8PM)
